Blog---June 4, 2025—9-10—Working on Wellness Wednesday
Yes the Working on Wellness Wednesday took just an important detour on June 4th---and for June 11th as well.
We did include other topics---but the center plate was the State Law Change on Boating Safety---the work that those folks around Lake Madison –Brant Lake Improvement were doing.
Why did they do? A 12 year old girl lost her life 2 years ago on the Lake when a boat hit her and it ended the promising days were laying ahead. Lawmakers decided to change the state law---by legislation---it goes into effect on July 1st. It means there are some boating safety courses being taught June 14th and beyond---and organizations have come together around Lake Madison to make sure it is known and that just like their neighboring states of Minnesota, Iowa, and I think North Dakota---will not have one up on South Dakota.
With have been working with Legislator Casey Crabtree---Business man Larry Kotten---and even the family that lost their daughter.
We talked with Mr. Crabtree twice this week from Washington DC, the owners of Sodak’s Marine, Lake Associations---and the family of Emmy Gorman.
If you don’t want to learn more about how all of these people pulled together—for Emmy---residents in South Dakota and all that will visit.
If there ever was a need for a story-line –to be promoting working on Wellness Wednesday---it is this one. If you tire of the path we are taking—forgive us----I can’t swim----but I believe it helping those that can thru this program and ones to come.
Dr. Joshua Jordee quite the Sioux Falls Chiropractor joined us this morning as well.
We talked about what he has shared in the past—sports performance and chiropractic. We learned a lot today---even talked gardening injuries, golf swing troubles---working in heat waves---travel tiring---even beds that cause more harm than good. He even thru in vacations that can have the impact on the spine.
His wife and son have been traveling first to Northern Ireland—when Mrs. Jordee learned some of the things those Irish chiropractors were doing and charging.
You can find them at 2 S Center Avenue---and they are open 9-12 and 2-5 on MWF while it’s 9-1230 Tuesday and Thursday and 9 to noon on Saturday.
Dr. Jordee joins us once sometimes twice a month---and If you don’t learn something you aren’t listening.
Our It’s YOUR Business—Working on Wellness Wednesday Show did jump into the middle of the Lake Madison---and Madison County effort that will change the water safety laws in South Dakota. Education for water safety begins June 14th---and the legislature passed new law on tougher water safety standards takes effect on July 1st.
Listen live to the show at 1320, 105.1, 107.9---use the KELO App---streaming on line or just ask Alexa. Norm Anderson posts the podcast on the show-----on the KELO-AM website—my job is to schedule the guest, research the topic and write the blog summarizing what was said in the show which with this show is at 4,841—original shows.
