Blog—June 18, 2025—10-11—It’s YOUR Agri Business
Our It’s YOUR Agri Business Show continued following along the discussions across South Dakota about the July 1 Water Safety Bill that goes into effect.
This at a time---that Lake Madison has worked hard with a water safety process that was passed by the South Dakota Legislature---but what was to include all waterways in South Dakota.
The measure is getting heavy duty discussions ---is Game Fish and Parks –really for the Statewide Water Safety Law Change---or are they getting some push back from the Far West---property owners—and families who don’t feel it’s necessary? Not sure---but it is the State-Law in 12 or 13 days? Casey Crabtree shared with me it is and will be the state law—but whether or not it would be enforced everywhere—time will tell.
Nolan Clarke---Plains Commerce Bank talked with us---about the planners kind of requests they are getting---business—ag---married couples of all ages---and how they listen and try to help them understand if they have questions—they should call Plains Commerce Bank.
Sarah Heinrich—had the Growing Harvest Network—from our sister station at KFGO Fargo---she is not only on our show—but other broadcasts in our Midwest Stations throughout the week. She is good at what she does---and any ag we can talk about gives our state were agriculture is number 1—something else special from Midwest Broadcasters.
Larry Kotten –quite the promoter and knows a lot of people that fit with the topics we are talking about this week. We have had a chance to digest the situation—he knows the family that suffered the lost, legislators, businesses, lawmakers, lawmen, and quite frankly---we are hoping to give other media around the state information that will make them want to tell the story about the 13 year old who lost her life, the businesses that were so touched by what so many did---and why they don’t want any other family to endure the Emmie Experience Event. I just help them tell their stories---and cry with them in the studio—and later when I think about all they are going thru. YES we will continue to follow along until the July 1st Date---and hopefully continue to bring people back in to tell the stories of what they are seeing and hopefully it will be a changing event for this Lake Madison family.
Matt Swenson—Swenson Commodities shared the morning numbers---Joe Evenson—Capital Fund Smith’s Cove talked to us about all the merchants that have come together----and the Empire Motorsports—Kingdom Capital Event they are doing with the Lake Madison Development Association.
Tim Wallberg joined us---and we let him share what he had seen---as Sheriff—and legislator. Each had their say---and I was happy to make their acquaintance ----as we move to get the Water Safety Situation—the law of South Dakota.
We closed the show with Laura Edwards---South Dakota State Climatologist---we talked about the Canadian Smoke, what’s ahead as we close June and move into July. Laura is special to our State---and with Justin Glisin—her counterpart in Iowa---we get a chance to tag our shows with what to expect with some of the most talented weather wonders I’ve ever been around working a dozen states.
Listen live to the show at 1320, 105.1, 107.9—use the KELO App—Streaming on line or just ask Alexa. Norm Anderson posts the podcast of the show—and makes sure I’m heard –and that I have my facts together. I schedule the guests---work with them on what we should be talking about---and make them feel like when the have a business story or agri-business story to talk about—we’ll do our best to help them communicate.
