-----------Brandon----------
You are the chief executive officer for downtown and we truly like to have you join us to fill us in and what to expect—Friday-Saturday-Sunday and yes the first of the WEEK DAYS for AUGUST----
Let's start this weekend update with live music.
Our AMPT Downtown series, presented by Xcel Energy, continues Friday and Saturday with free lunchtime performances. On Friday you'll find music at The Steel District from 11:30 to 1:00, and on Saturday the stage moves to Phillips Avenue Plaza. It's one of my favorite ways to spend a lunch break Downtown.
You can also catch Fridays on the Plaza over the noon hour at the 12th Street Plaza, adding even more live music and energy to Downtown on Friday.
Then head to Levitt at the Falls, where another fantastic weekend of free concerts is on tap. Saturday morning features Omaha Street Percussion, bringing an energetic, family-friendly performance to the Levitt lawn, and Saturday night wraps up with Chicken Wire Empire, one of the Midwest's premier bluegrass bands.
If food is your thing...
Friday evening, Plum's Cooking Company is hosting Gluten Free Lite Bites, where Chef April Johnson shares fresh, seasonal recipes that prove gluten-free can be full of flavor.
Then Saturday evening, one of Downtown's signature summer traditions returns with the 12th Annual Taste the Goodness. It's an opportunity to sample incredible food, wine, craft beer, bourbon, and non-alcoholic beverages from across the region while enjoying live music and a beautiful evening Downtown. If you like discovering new flavors, this is a can't-miss event.
And before I let you go, I want to give everyone a sneak peek at next weekend, because it's our fourth and final Open Streets event of 2026, and we're ending the season with Wine & Wags.
Phillips Avenue, right outside The Dinner Table and Coffea, will transform into a dog-friendly gathering space where you're encouraged to bring your four-legged friends downtown. Stop by the Downtown Sioux Falls tent to pick up a wine sampling punch pass, then stroll the district while sampling wines from participating businesses, meeting fellow dog lovers, and enjoying one last Open Streets celebration before the season wraps up. It's become one of our favorite themes, and we hope you'll join us.
As always, you can find even more events and all the details at dtsf.com/events. We hope to see you Downtown this weekend and again next Saturday for Wine & Wags.
