I’m one of these guys that gets rolling looking at figures comparing states—could be safety –could be life or death----this morning safety---According to AAA, over 30% of fatal driving crashes occur during the summer vacation, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. When correlated with the National Safety Council data, only Thanksgiving shows a higher percentage of traffic fatalities.
At a time when dangerous driving remains a major public safety issue nationwide, new data from Hard Rock Bet reveals which states have the best and worst drivers in the U.S., based on the number of road accidents, DUIs, and speeding-related incidents per capita.
By focusing on incidents per capita rather than absolute numbers, the study gives a more accurate view of each state's main risk behaviors when it comes to driving.
------yes as you look at those numbers remember—time of the year that is claiming a lot of drivers and their passengers----
Stay with us interesting facts—and can be the spirit or you name it---all following Fox Business News on the Half hour----

Deanell was named Spirit of Dakota last year - this award is the premiere award for women in South Dakota -
The Spirit of Dakota recognizes the "cream of the crop" of South Dakota Women - honoring a woman who has been symbols of all that we are proud of in our Prairie Women that make up our great state
What does it mean to be named Spirit of Dakota? (Deanell can adlib)
How did this award come about?
(This award came about following a nine-foot bronze Spirit of Dakota statue that was created by internationally known sculptor Dale Laphere of Sturgis for the Crossroads Convention Center in Huron. The Arc of Dreams in Sioux Falls and Lady Dignity in Chamberlain are other examples of his work. After this beautiful sculpture was created, an award begin 40 years ago to honor a premiere woman)
They are currently seeing nominations for the 40th anniversary of the award - the deadline for nominations is August first -
Why should someone nominate an outstanding woman for this award? (Deanell can adlib)
