 It's the 17th Annual Sioux Falls Convention and Visitors Bureau Hunter's Welcome at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport that welcomes hunters from 12-7 Thursday and 9:30 to 7 on Friday.

 Emmett Keyser is the Regional Supervisor for Games, Fish and Parks --- and Travis Runia is South Dakota's upland bird biologist. They explain what they know about the pheasant crop this year --- and some of the rules, regulations, and what hunters can expect.



 South Dakota is often promoted as the pheasant capital of the world ---but most making the journey say they are here because of the more than adequate hunting and the experiences they gain.



 The largest of the Pheasant Hunting organizations is R & R Pheasant Hunting. 5 generations of stewardship has produced some of the most productive, exciting pheasant hunting in South Dakota. Sal Roseland joins us in the middle of a hunt. R & R is one of only a few certified Cabela's Hunting destinations in the world.



 Rich Widman is President of the South Dakota Wildlife Federation. SDWF manages the state's wildlife using the best scientific information available to set limits and season. SDWF is the state's oldest conservation organization and really is involved in developing legislative policy impacting.



 A pheasant hunt of another kind is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at Golf Addiction in Sioux Falls.



 Included in the event a 4 person scramble



 1 round of trap shooting



 1 round of pheasant hunting



 The 18 holes of golf are on a simulated course-- but a good one -- Old Course of St. Andrews. Call 274-8903 to enter.
