Blog-February 21, 2023-9-10---The Leader of the Band Show
Scott Lawrence IS THE LEADER OF THE BAND---his musical background has made him a director of so many things and mostly in PURE HARMONY.
When you look at the guests is this show---you can see and hear what I mean.
Four guests ---and we start with Jen Teisinger---ED of the South Dakota Symphony and a big part of that is what the New Yorker did to launch a 2 million dollar gift---plus the WRITE-UP in the New Yorker—not once but TWICE reached so many people.
We’ll discuss the Buntrock Gift and what it means---
Of course as we will hear—still needed is our ANNUAL FUNDS----
This is the 100th Season ---and we’ll get the information on the next concert---and how you can attend.
We’ll also go to Pierre this morning---with just 11 days left in the session---the House is busy as is the Senate—in the “Black Drape Day”---the drape is used in both chambers to forget the time---as it is cross-over day for the bills.
Joining us this morning is Will Mortenson—House Majority Leader. He will give us the insight on the 3 tax cuts being discussed in the House Appropriations between now at 10:30-
In our 10:00 hour---Tony Ven Huizen—will share they did---and what it means—and where it goes from here.
Last week----was Sioux Falls Day at the Capital---however icy roads didn’t let the buses make the 220 mile journey to Pierre. But it was Scott Lawrence the Leader of the Band along with Jeff Griffin---who heads up the Sioux Falls Chamber---who did talk with me as I did the show from the Capital. Both would have preferred to be there---but they gave us unique prospective on the session---what is utmost in the minds of many----and quite the communication issue conquered -------
With Leader Mortenson ---and the Leader of the Band—this too will be a unique information packed segment in our show.
9:32----Brian Slipka—Co-owner of the Sioux Falls Canaries and owner of the Truth North Company will talk with us about the hopes for the Baseball birds in the future.
We’ll talk about why we need a stadium downtown---now that Sioux Falls has surpassed the 200,000 number---and what it could mean not only for the Canaries---but baseball fans—and downtown merchants as well.
We’ll talk how the fans can get involved---the foundation—non-profit—even the Mayor is aligned---as the need is there to replace the tired Canary park----and with Riverline being discussed---this would seem to be something that could be knocked out of the park for today, tomorrow and the future.
The Leader of the Band—talks the Teen Challenge. Mike Gilmartin ED of Teen Challenge in the Dakotas is the guest.
We’ll talk about the men in families that need help—and this could be the place and the proper situation.
Teen Challenge---but uncles and grandpa’s and others in your family should want to get more information on this great and growing project.
We’ll answer what the teen challenge is and how does the legal system play into it? What does it cost? And How do you get more information ---particularly if you know a family member of friend that truly could use this help.
Our Leader of the Band Show---is GOOD FOR THE PROGRAM—It’s YOUR Business—and gives us a whole different approach to people—issues----and understanding for those that listen. Scott Lawrence will become the 2023-2024 Sioux Falls Chamber Leader—and he’ll be directing more than a band.
