  Across South Dakota---August 5th is a day of beginnings---Sioux Empire Fair in Sioux Falls and Sturgis Motorcycle riving at the Buffalo Chip.

   And if you think this isn’t business---your dead wrong. It is the state promotes it---vendors need the visibility---and people enjoy their opportunity to have some fun. We’ll talk with leaders about both in our 10:00 Hour.

    But we start with Jodi Schwan---

      Just the tip of the iceberg---but it is a great start to the show.

     Jessie Schmidt—BBB of South Dakota---takes us thru the scamming being on the front page. The BBB Scam Tracker has received multiple reporters of scammers creating fake airline ticket booking sites or customer service numbers to charge travelers for rescheduling fake flights. If you are buying airfares, use caution and double check the URL or phone number before providing your credit card information.

      In essence shortly after making the payment-you receive a call from the company saying there’s been a sudden price increase or an extra charge to finalize your booking. This is something a legitimate company would never do.

      Jessie will share how to avoid travel scams in her segment.

       Then ---Emmett Keyser—South Dakota Game Fish and Parks. We talk –just a month from today is Labor Day---we’ll be discussing GFP Hunting Access Programs. They have a new “Public Hunting Atlas” depicting all of the hunting access opportunities across South Dakota. They just arrive in our regional offices this week----

       There are several components to the hunting access programs, including Cooperative Hunting Access Areas, the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program or CREEP—the Controlled Hunting Access Program or CHAP’s, the Elk Hunting Access Program in Western SD and Lower Oahe Access Area.

       With 300,000 acres of sate owned game production areas that are open to hunting and managed for wildlife habitat and there are many acres of other public land managed by various governmental agencies.

       9:32—Dr. Allen Unruh---talks Neuropathy---we talked with JoAnn –referred to Unruh Clinic –seeking relief from constant neuropathy in her legs and feet.

       In essence that kept her awake at night and plagued her---she even had a hard time visiting her grandkids but to the pain.

        We’ll talk about some of things suggested for her---like to implant a stimulator in her back to numb the pain. The procedure decreases mobility even further leading to more and more serious problems.

       Dr. Unruh with JoAnn talk about what they did and how she is doing today. She comes all the way from Ipswich—100 miles north of Aberdeen. The story is remarkable—and my job is to just help tell it to you our audience.

        9:47----we get to talk with Paul LaRoche---you remember him as BRULE. They knocked it out of the park last weekend at the Levitt---and today we get a chance to update where they have been---what else they are planning---and how happy he was to be able to play the Levitt AGAIN.

       Diana Patterson—Sanford Careers helps us help them find RN’s and LPN’s. We do this to close the Friday Shows---and we know it works. Diana has been a part of Sanford for 16 or is it 18 years---and she knows the in’s and out’s and is still helping today.
