Blog---August 29, 2023—9-10---Leader of the Band Show

   What a Leader of the Band Show----Scott Lawrence could have been honored with an old TV Title—“This is your Life---Scott Lawrence”.



    We started with Jeff Griffin—President of the Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce—as we approach the “Scott Lawrence Leadership Year” we know that Griff and Scott will be working with a lot of people and at the same time what they reap---we will sew/sow---and it should be an interesting year. For me having worked with both of these professionals—I look forward to adding we can do with our radio show---to get even more connection in the next 12 months. “The Leader” has gone up thru the chairs and is ready----we are ready to follow—and much like the Governor that calls when she needs something for the state----when the Chamber and the 2023-2024 Leader needs something—It’s about THE BUSINESS.



     And what about the Sioux Falls Public School Superintendent---Dr. Jane Stavem---we had a chance today to talk about getting the kids back to school, new ideas, taking care of the students, teachers that will work to make a difference—even the retired teachers—come back to help. Nice feel even though we started the school year with some triple digits---we’ll be keeping a close eye on this TOO!! We are fortunate that this Nebraskan came our way to make a difference in Sioux Falls. She’s creative---responsive---and it’s about education our kids—and grooming things for years ahead. With Scott Lawrence and Dr. Stavem---we are here to help---and it should be an interesting scenario.



      Guest three---Dean Mary Bell at Dakota State University Beacom School. As it turned out this lady was in the El Paso-Las Cruces Territory that I served for a handful of years as a TV News Director. What that part of the southwest has---with it’s people and students—makes her quite the person to be leading the way in Madison and Sioux Falls South Dakota. She will be leading—and with the miracle things they are doing---what a story-line for us to watch. A great story---and again Scott Lawrence---right there –again the Leader of the Band---helping all of us.



      We closed the show with a 4th topic----Dwight Vaught –Executive Director of the National Music Museum in Vermillion—was unable to talk—but the Leader of the Band---could—last weekend it was the roll out of the new first floor exhibits. And Scott was sharing how families –much like the Zortman family that has had instruments there could get them back by going to the Curator. Something we might do with my dad’s who made amazing violins up till he was 85. But not only those cataloged—but those still on display.



       Our Leader of the Band Show is a show I truly enjoy doing. It’s Scott Lawrence’s life—with what he does with Advertising Agency---and his history of leading and playing in bands during his lifetime.
