Blog---August 26, 2025—9-10---It’s YOUR Biz—Fair @ More

  During this week---our It’s YOUR Business Show has been working to promote all that will be the South Dakota State Fair which opens Wednesday.

  For us we spent time last week at Dakotafest near Mitchell. This week as we between “Fest” and “Fair”---we had a chance to pick up some of the important scenarios that were found and will be found in both places---many of the attendees will be the same----and so was our interest.

  Today---the day before the South Dakota Fair in Huron-----we visited with Candi Briley who has helped us for a number of years to take our microphones and interest to the Fair that last year drew 190,000. What about this year?

   We were able to work closely with Candi Briley---who has counted us down to the first day of the event. We look forward to following with reports from Huron on Wednesday—and then being there Friday.

   Candi was able to run us thru all that is going on---even how the weather from the weekend has been turning from the mud to the sunshine and easier traveling.

   Candi does work with us year around---we know that agriculture is the #1 industry in the state---and we treated as such including the State Fair.

   Candi is looking forward to the dedication of “The Shed” where the sheep will be seen---all changing to new digs---perfect for those woolie creatures.

   Gerri Eide---FFA of South Dakota had Kyler Foreman JR. join us this morning to talk about market goats and more. 

   Gretchen Sharp—has resigned from the South Dakota FFA Foundation. She has served as Executive Director from 2001-2010---she was serving as Executive Assistant from 2010-2025.

   We visited with Cheri Rath from Value Added Ag on Valued Added Ag Day and Joslynn from South Dakota Rural Electric Association-----there big event is on Thursday----all about safety---and we will follow up with more on our Wednesday Show to promote the safety that could be translated by people knowing about it and doing something.

   Josh Brewer---CEO of Life Light told us about their big event coming up this weekend in Downtown Sioux Falls. In 2024 –Josh said they had a resounding success—organizing the event at Nelson Park. By having the festival at Nelson Park, Lifelight aims to provide ample space for the growing number of participants while accommodating a wider array of family-friendly participants.

    Our It’s YOUR Business Show and Agri Business Shows-is approaching 5,000 shows here in Sioux Falls-looks like it will happen in late September or early October. I did do 5,000 TV newscasts in a handful of states----and now to do 5,000 radio shows all in Sioux Falls has put a few years on me.

    Listen live to the show at 1320, 105.1, 107.9---Norm Anderson posts the show on our KELO-AM Website. My job is to schedule the guests, prepare the discussions---and then write the Blog---sharing in an abbreviated form—what and where were the topics we discussed.
