August 14, 2026---10-11—It’s YOUR Agri Business---Show 53-04
(((From the Blackburn Studios in Downtown Sioux Falls—Become a Blackburn Protected HOME)))
I’m Bill Zortman and Welcome to our Friday Finally—Ag Business Show for the week---show 53-04 in our ORIGINAL It’s YOUR Business Series—
We like to start –with Darren Hefty---Ag PHD----he and his brother are highly visible nationwide talking agriculture-----and we couldn’t be prouder ---so proud we like to lead with what they are doing in our last show of the week It’s YOUR Agri Business----10:00 Friday---
Darren---brings us up-to-date on what you are seeing with the crops---and the hopes you are hearing from those in agriculture----
-------------Darren-----------
All the political paddy caking going on----where are we headed with this crop and need for farm bill and other very important dollar and cent necessities----in agriculture
------------Darren------------
For those that have heard us talking to you about your show nationwide—where do the find it---and when---and what will you be talking about in upcoming shows…
-------------Darren-------------
Darren Hefty---thanks for all you do-----and keeping doing it just the way you have for so many creative years…that you are still adding too
---------The Governor this hour ---is at a ground breaking at Southeast Tech –it is the school’s new James Abdnor Center for Advanced Manufacturing and welding lab expansion. Very big for Southeast Each---but Roden said he was too busy to join us for a salute. Congratulation to the new James Abdnor Center for Advanced Manufacturing with a welding lab expansion.
----Coming up Monday---63 first time teachers will receive a grant to purchase classroom supplies here in Sioux Falls. Educators from 27 schools in the Sioux Falls District will receive grants to purchase supplies ---
The $250 grants from the Education Foundation---with this announcement the organization will have awarded 1177 First Time Teacher Grants since 2011.
Experts tell us that the teachers are entering the classrooms with greater confidence, resources and support. As Executive Director Allison Struck put it—the grants are more than financial assistance—they’re an investment in educators and their students---
Through First Time Teacher Grants and Replenish the Room Grants—the Education Foundation will invest about $60,000 in teacher grants at the start of the 2026-2027—school year.
As was shared with us the donors understand that when we invest in teachers, we invest in the future of our communities. Their choice to support educators reflect a belief in the power of teachers to inspire, guide and make a lasting difference in the lives of students.
---just ahead--- Plains Commerce Bank----they’ll find ways to help you—from your phone on a trip to the bank---or at a Farm Show---
