Retired Horticulturalist Dave Decock answers questions from listeners about their lawns, gardens, trees and more.
Dave helps a caller who had some major damage to an evergreen tree. A recent storm caused the tree to pick up out of the ground on one side. Unfortunately, this particular tree will never regain strength on the side it was toppled. Dave said you could stake and brace, but ultimately it would require removal.
Already have tomatoes on the plant, but leaves are turning yellow? Might be a shortage of nitrogen - too early for blight - try adding some garden fertilizer that is high in nitrogen. Don’t trim off the yellow leaves, just leave them.
Plus, Dave helps out some people with a lawn mower killing set of tree roots, some transplant and pruning options and a whole lot more.
