Israel faces enormous challenges. Israeli society is undergoing a major change, from a society made up of a clear Zionist secular majority, to one made up of four clear population sectors or “tribes” which are growing ever closer in size: the secular Jews, the national religious Jews, the Haredim and the Arabs. The fifth tribe is the Israeli diaspora.

Perla Aizencang-Kane was born in Argentina and became an Israeli citizen in 1990. As a transnational migrant, she has been living in Mexico since 2008.  Her main lines of research focus on migration, transnational living, diaspora formation, and identity dynamics in migratory processes. She teaches at the Hebraica University in Mexico City and is also a research fellow at the Institute for Immigration and Social Integration at the Ruppin Academic Center in Israel.

Eitan Drori OAM initiated and established together with Israeli community leaders worldwide, the Global Israeli Leadership (GIL), the roof body for the Israeli communities outside the US and he is its chairman. The GIL's main task is to develop and maintain a strong affiliation between the Israeli Diaspora and the State of Israel, in the areas of identity, Hebrew culture, Jewish education, business networking and advocacy.
