Liberty University lacrosse player Chad Gurney seemingly had it all: good looks, popularity, and an active love life. But a freak auto accident in 2005 left him with permanent physical and psychological impairments. After moving back to his hometown near Portland, ME - friends recalled something seeming off about Chad, claiming that he was, “never quite the same since the accident.” In May of 2009, the now tattooed man everyone seemed to be warning young girls about finally snapped, committing one of Maine’s most gruesome murders. His actions left everyone wondering if something had fundamentally changed in his brain chemistry after the accident, or if he had simply been a monster hiding in plain sight all along.
