Dr Anosh Sivashanmugarajah, passionate about rural medicine

Dr Anosh Sivashanmugarajah is a Dual Advanced Trainee with the Royal Australian College of Physicians completing training in Cardiology & Internal Medicine. He is also an Associate Clinical Lecturer in the School of Medicine at the University of Sydney, University of Queensland and James Cook University. Anosh finished medical schooling from James Cook University in Townsville with an Academic medal, the Dr David Graham Prize for the Dux of Surgery and the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Prize.

He completed internship at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and moved back to Sydney to pursue residency and Basic Physician Training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. He is currently completing a year of 'Internal Medicine' at Dubbo Base Hospital. Following this, he will pursue Cardiology Advanced Training at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Anosh was awarded the '2019 NSW/ACT Young Achiever of the Year' Award and the '2019 NSW/ACT Western Sydney University Academic Achievement Award'. In 2020, he was named the 'Australian Medical Association NSW Registrar of the Year'. His ultimate ambition is to pursue a combined clinical, academic and teaching career as a Consultant Cardiologist in regional & rural settings within Australia.
