On the latest MLB offseason edition of Inside the (Rob) Parker, Rob leads off with his take on Scott Rolen being voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame by the BBWAA. Needless to say, Mr. Parker was not a fan of the result. The only thing he has a bigger problem with is the fact that Rolen will be enshrined alongside Fred McGriff, who was previously let in ‘through the backdoor’ by the Contemporary Era Committee when he couldn’t garner enough votes to get in through the BBWAA. Thankfully, Rob has a plan in place that he thinks could fix the Hall of Fame voting process so things like this don’t happen again. Later, MLB Network and FOX Sports Radio MLB insider Jon Morosi swings by to discuss why Rolen got in over guys with arguably better resumes like Keith Hernandez, which of the finalists he would have voted for if given the opportunity, why Rolen’s candidacy seemed to get stronger the longer he was on the ballot, the narrative that previous Hall of Famers have become devalued now that good-but-not-great players (like Rolen) are enshrined alongside them and much more!
