Therefore, What?: The Atlantic’s McKay Coppins on writing about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a journalist and a member

View descriptionShare

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has often been described as a very American religion, and The Atlantic staff writer McKay Coppins’ new article out today claims that it isn't just that, it is “The Most American Religion.” Mckay joined Boyd on his “Therefore, What?” podcast in this week’s episode to discuss the long and careful process of researching and writing this story. Writing this piece has been a challenge as he needed to balance his voice as an award-winning journalist as well as an active member of The Church, who had the unique opportunity to interview his prophet, President Nelson. We play a portion of that podcast on today’s Inside Sources.

Inside Sources with Boyd Matheson,’ Opinion Editor at Deseret News, takes you inside the latest political news and current events, providing higher ground for today's discussions.
