Navy veteran Jeanette Holland spent 34 years holding everything together. Today she uses sound healing, the gong and neo-sonic frequencies to help people release trauma and grief without having to put it into words.

Jeanette joined the Women's Royal Australian Naval Service at 17 and became one of the first single mothers in the service. Military discipline taught her to put grief away quietly and completely. Over the years she lost two husbands, her parents, her brother and her daughter. Her Complex PTSD went undiagnosed until she left the uniform at 58, and then everything she had been holding surfaced at once.

At 60, a pituitary tumour became her turning point. Psychiatrists and group work led her to a shamanic retreat in India, and from there to the gong.

Kaye and Jeanette talk openly about what happens when sound reaches the places words cannot.

In this episode:
Why sensitive souls often choose the most disciplined paths
How trauma held in silence surfaces in the body once the structure falls away
Gong healing, chanting and neo-sonic frequencies as a way to release trauma without words
The responsibility of working with sound and energy, and why aftercare is not optional
How repetition through mantra and gong meditation breaks down old neural pathways and creates new ones
Supporting people through grief, loss and death
Walking a shamanic healing path without claiming the title of shaman
Why it is never too late to accept your gifts

Jeanette turns the usual question about the inner voice of knowing around. She serves it, rather than it serving her. That shift is what allows her to hold space for others.

What have you been holding in silence that is ready to be heard?
