We start the final hour of the show with the ISC Sports Network’s Rick Johnston who was at the Hoosier indoor track relays and what unfolded a the state fairgrounds in downtown Indianapolis. There were record-breaking performances in the prelims, and Rick breals it down. We get to “the best at what he does,” Greg Rakestraw, who was on the call for the 3A and 4A state title games which were both extremely well played. He touches on New Haven not showing any first-time state appearance jitters despite the loss and what the win means for Cathedral. He also talks about Mt. Vernon’s win in 4A and how they didn’t sub in the second half. Then, we hear from state champion head coach of Parke Heritage Rich Schelsky. He talks about leading for most of the game and having to respond after Westview came back. As we’ve talked about throughout the show, the 2A game had the wildest ending, and coach Schelsky walks us through his thought process as the game winded down. Plus, he reveals he had two players who need surgery due to injuries but put it off to continue to play through the season. Plus, what does it feel like to win it with his son?
