Ep.4: Alan Herbert, jobseeker and graduate, Kenya

View descriptionShare

In this nine-minute report, Sarah from the global reporting team speaks with Alan Herbert, a media studies and journalism graduate and jobseeker who is being supported in his job search through Inclusion Works, the Inclusive Futures employment programme.

Alan describes some of the barriers he’s faced as a person with albinism looking for roles in the media sector, and some of the wider stigma and discrimination he’s faced over the course of his life.

Listen to his audio report to hear Alan’s views on what needs to change on the part of employers in Kenya, and on the role Sightsavers through the Inclusive Futures initiative has to play in breaking down the barriers that still exist for young people with disabilities in fulfilling their career ambitions.
