We talked about all the many programs at the Children’s Shelter. This included The Hope Center, which offers trauma-informed services by licensed counselors, a psychiatrist, and family support workers in a loving, safe environment. The Hope Center helps children and families cope with and heal from previous exposure to child abuse, neglect, abandonment, and/or violence.  We also talked about their foster care programs, their programs for parents, and more.

People think about giving their families the gift of a pet during the holidays.  Lisa encouraged people to think about adoption first.  We talked about the benefits of adoption, and all the services ACS and other shelters offer to adopters.  We also talked about the shelter's upcoming Home For the Holidays event on 12/20 and 12/21 with lots of Christmas activities for the family.
