Mpumalanga-Thirty seven year old August Mgidi appeared briefly at the KwaMhlanga magistrates court for a bail application. He is accused of murdering of Contralesa NEC member and chairperson of the Nzunza-Fene Traditional Council, Kosabo Thugwana at Tweefontein near KwaMhlanga. Thugwana's brutal murder shocked many. He was well known for being vocal on issues of development in the former KwaNdebele areas and was critical of the so-called construction mafia in the area.
