Mpumalanga-Members of Identical Force-a Facebook-based community group that assists individuals in resolving various matters—were allegedly assaulted by police in eMalahleni while enroute to assist with a case.
According to the group, they were detained and held in custody for three days. During this time, they allege they were subjected to torture by police officers, who accused them of interfering with official duties.
The group maintains that they were simply responding to a call for help, in line with their mission to support community members in resolving disputes and other issues.
Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident.
