Nicki Minaj has reason to be super excited about her new song “Super Freaky Girl.”
The 39-year-old rap star has become the first female artist to have a solo hip hop track debut at No. 1 in the U.S. since Lauryn Hill with “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in 1998. Minaj is also the first solo female artist to have a song debut at No. 1 so far this year.
Elton John and Britney Spears have released their highly anticipated collaboration, “Hold Me Closer.” (Tune in all day to your favourite iHeartRadio station to hear it!)
A reimagining of John’s 1971 classic “Tiny Dancer” that kicks off with the first verse of his 1992 song “The One” and interpolates a bit of 1976's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," the track was produced by Andrew Watt and Canada’s Cirkut (aka Toronto-born, Nova Scotia-raised Henry Walter).
The 38th MTV Video Music Awards are going down Sunday night in New Jersey.
