Avril Lavigne 'Grateful' To Receive Star On Hollywood Walk Of Fame, Dua Lipa Seeks To Get 'Levitating' Plagiarism Case Tossed, Ex-Silverchair Singer Daniel Johns Says Breakdown Led To DUI

View descriptionShare

Avril Lavigne said Wednesday she was proud and honoured to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Dua Lipa’s lawyers have asked a judge to toss out one of two lawsuits over her 2020 hit “Levitating” because the pop star and her co-writers “never heard” the songs they are accused of copying.

In March, songwriters L. Russell Brown and Sandy Linzer accused Lipa of copying their 1979 track “Wiggle and Giggle All Night” and 1980’s “Don Diablo.”

Former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, who pleaded guilty in April to a drunk driving charge in his native Australia, said he was suffering a “full-on nervous breakdown.”

Johns was three times over the legal limit for alcohol when the SUV he was driving crossed over into oncoming traffic and crashed into a van. Two people were treated for minor injuries.
