In just two years workers compensation claims for teachers in Tasmania jumped, they rose from 198 in 2023 to 249 in 2025.
Included in that figure is a huge increase in psychological injury claims and an increase too in physical injuries.
On this week's episode of iHeart Tassie, we speak to a Tasmanian teacher who's been in the job for 25 years.
Peta Maree Revell-Cook, who is also a part of the Australian Education Union, has shared her experience about the complex issue of school violence, including a situation that nearly made her quit, as her family watched her go from happy and resilient to barely coping.
