ICE T'S DAILY GAME
I See's Daily Game. It's a production of iHeartRadio. What's Up, Size Team? You're listening to The Daily Game the compilation of motivational quotes I've collected over the years that I've found inspiring and helped me through the game of life. Today's quote comes from Mario Andretti, one of the most successful drivers in the history of motorsports. I'm very fortunate to have met Mario Andretti because I'm close friends with his grandson, Marco Andretti. So I've been out to the Andretti house. I've been in Mario's house. I've seen all his trophies. There's nobody that knows how to win like Mario Andretti, and he is a very very cool, deep, sincere person. So listen to this quote from Mario Andretti. Desire is the key to motivation. But it's the determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal, a commitment to excellence that will enable you to attain the success you seek. Mario Andretti's that's why he was so great. I mean, what he's saying is that desire motivates you. Okay, you want something, so now you're motivated, we get that, but it's determination, commitment, unrelenting pursuit of your goal. Unrelenting, that's the big word. It means you are not going to stop. You have to be determined, and you have to be willing to push past everything to get to it. And you have to want excellence. All those have to come into play. If you want to obtain the success you seek, you have to be willing to do what everybody else won't do. I mean this was from another quote. I was telling somebody today that everything that you want usually comes from discomfort. The things you you're trying to achieve, all all the all the goals you want will happened during discomfort. When you're relaxing, you're not moving. But you have to be willing to be uncomfortable, and you have to be willing to push past what other people stop where Flavor flav told me once. He said, if you want to have an ordinary life, you do ordinary things. If you want an extraordinary life, you do have to do extra than the ordinary. What Mario is saying is you have to be so focused and willing to push past everything.
I love the word unrelenting.
At the end of the day, everyone has desires, right, but the commitment is what separates the fakers from the real ones. It's it's so simple, but it's so difficult for people to understand.
Like I mean, here's an analogy.
You want to you want to get in shape, right, you want to have a a nice physique, But it doesn't happen by sitting on the couch. You have to commit yourself to the workouts necessary, you know. I remember one time if somebody was telling me one of my bodybuilding friends was like, oh, they say, you guys are doing steroids. He says, you can't do steroids and sit on the couch. He says, I'm in the gym twice a day, you know, five six, seven days a week. So you have to be committed to whatever it is what you want in life.
You have to be committed.
You have to wake up, you have to think about it, you have to push it, and you have to want to be excellent, better than everybody else, better than you were the day before. And that's the only thing it's going to make you attain the success you seek.
It's not going to help just to be motivated.
You're gonna have to go out and commit to that task, it's necessary to achieve what you want. This has been another ice cold back from me. Iced t listening again tomorrow when I drop some wisdom on your ass. Till then, stay safe, stay smart, and stay knowing that anybody can come to the table with desire, but it's the commitment and focused pursuit of excellence that will elevate your game.
