My guest in this episode has been described by others to me, as possibly the most influential man in British Speedway over the years. 

This is the story of Peter Oakes, an award winning Fleet Street journalist in his day job but also went way beyond just reporting on speedway. He became firmly a part of it, working on PR for clubs, becoming a promoter, a team manager, and the personal manager & best friend of one of the sports greatest ever riders Ivan Mauger. 

Before the end of the show Peter is going to harness all of that knowledge to create his Speedway Paradise, his all time team, at the all time venue, and some tweaks to the rule book as well..
