We're taking your calls and answering your questions.
Go!

I am all in that I am all in with Scott Patterson, an I Heeart radio podcast. We're gonna do a new little segment here. We're gonna have fans calling into the show with questions, and the first one we have is Francesca, Hello, Francesco, are you there? I'm here. Hi. How are you doing? I'm good? How are you good? Good? Where are you calling from? I'm from Chicago, Chicago, Chicago, great city, great city. What a town? What a town? Yeah? Uh? And what is your question? Um? So? The question that I had, well, I did have two because I didn't like the one that I had, But the first question that I had was from the last episode, um the one where you're not wearing your socks. Um So. The question that I had was because I love the podcast. I love the show. I listened every week. I can't wait every week. I'm like so excited to hear from you guys. So, M the what I what you guys didn't mention was I thought that Nicole was deliberately trying to get caught, so that she did that on purpose to get a rise out of him, out of loop, to see you know what he would do if she if she would get his attention from that. So I guess my question was if that was if you were in that situation, would you do the same thing, Would you make it deliberate to get caught, or would you kind of go quietly? I well, I've I've that actually happened to me once, and I remember how I reacted. But you were asking me to put myself in in Nicole's shoes, and would I ever do something now? I would never do anything like that. Yeah, that's what it seemed like to me, like he was trying to get a rise out of him because she wasn't getting to you. I think that's that's I have been on the other end of it, and and I didn't I did that girl did not get the reaction that she was hoping for. I think I think Nicole was cheating on Luke. Yes, I found someone new, right right. I was thinking, I don't know, like I could say, you know, I could think something differently than that, just because of the whole situation, seeing everything with everybody altogether, with Laura Lee and the whole relationship. I feel like she was trying to get some kind of, you know, a rise out of him, some kind of attention that she was like she did she was trying to gauge his level of interest in her right cheating, but maybe it ended up that way. But so at that point she was like, over it, I'm just going to do what I want to do. Yeah, is he going to fight for me? Kind of right, It's kind of like it's kind of like a hail Mary, like yeah, yeah, because she's at the end of her rope, but she really is not ready to let it go. But let's see, how is this man going to just throw down and fight for me at this point? You know, Let's see what he does. It's a good theory. It's interesting. I have seen that play out in real life. It's entirely possible. Sure, wait, I'm curious what your other question was. Oh okay, so my other question was because I feel like I'm more of a Suki what you guys were talking about the last episode of Who You're Most Like? So I was going to ask you, is who your BF in the show would be? Like a Suki to a Laura life, who you would choose as your BF? Like Lane and Rory? Who would be your BF in this show? If you could check one guy? Who would have been any character. It could be you do you tell your you don't want to tell yours first? Oh? I mean I think my BF and the show would be you know, obviously Laurel Lie. But I think other than that, well, not of interest, like you're kind of like, don't you personally talk to like kind of like I said, like a Suki and a Laurea life, you know, I think weirdly, I think weirdly it would be Kirk. Yeah. I like that because I can't think of anybody else that I would go to. Who would I go to? I wouldn't go to Taylor. I wouldn't go to anybody. I mean, there's nobody to go to. It's Kirk, yeah, and there it would be highly comedic choice. Yeah Logan. If Logan can't be my lover, I take him as and I don't want to be right right totally. Thank you guys so much. I love every minute of this show. Every week I listen while I cake decorated, work every day, work all day. So I have you guys in my ear laughing to my but I love well, we're really I'm really happy you enjoyed it, because really, the way we uh designed this show is to be more of a freestyle open and to kind of play and jack, yes, totally. I mean I love it. You guys go out of order. It doesn't matter to love it all. But thank you so much. You're very very well. I have been waiting for the fans to kind of get in on this, so I'm still thinking. Cool, send us a cake and we'll pump your business. I believe I was gonna say it. I'm glad you did. Yeah, we'll pump your business already, you got it? Yeah, man? Cool? Yeah? What how do people find your cakes? I'm at on Instagram missus fran Cakes, so it's like cakes but missus Francakes, missus fran Cakes on Instagram. All right, cool, so go to missus fran Cakes everybody. And that's so I heard rumors before you even came on some of the finest cakes in Chicago. Well, thank you so much, and I love you guys, so thank you, guys. We love you too, and we're looking forward. Wait, basically all right, Francesco, going guys a little bit, love it, love it, we will thank you, Thank you, all right, thank you? Okay, we've got Jenna. Yeah right, look at that. Yeah, I just looked it up. Look at that you got some cakes. Oh my god, her cakes are so good. Oh there goes my stomach again. I'm gonna need more sit ups. Must I do all worth it? I'm sure? All right, we've got Jenna on the line. Hi. Jenna, Hello, Hi, where are you calling from? Saint Louis, Missouri? Saint Louis? All right, thank you guys so much for doing this. This is an honor. Oh well, it's an honor. Have you come on? We're who's idea? This was? Was? Amy? Was this your idea? Yes? I can explain. Why tell me? Tell me why because like four hundred comments this week, right who were just so fired up? But I was like, better, we better get them on the here. I love it. Jenna. What do you What do you do in the Saint Louis? So? I work in banking, um with small businesses. Oh great, good for you helping them out getting them their loans that they need. Yes, we do need. That is so true. For sure. I have a small business and we certainly could use all the help we can get. So what is your question? Jenna? So my question is, since you guys are about halfway, maybe a little over, halfway through rewatching. For those who have not seen all the way through, where would you like to see the main characters go and develop? And for those of you who have or maybe have like memories from a year in the life, where would you like to see those characters go? After that? All the characters are I'd say, just the main characters, your favorites. Well, you know, listen, for me, it's always been about a wedding, you know, to to put the cherry on top of the cake. Here on the show, it's always been a big wedding, a big community wedding, town wedding. Everybody's involved. That's that's how I always envisioned it. So yeah, I think you could get a bunch of episodes, uh that deal with just that. It would be quite entertaining, I think, quite satisfying for the fans. I think it's what the fans want. Yeah, I can I answer Sean. I feel like Daniell's gonna need to take her headphones. That's what I was thinking. Probably I thought the same thing. But yeah, thank you, Um, I want to see who the baby daddy is and thank you. It's logan like, yeah, I mean that you want it to be Logan too, Jenna, I do, but I also want her to raise the baby with Jess. Wait a minute, Logan baby raised by Jess. I think that Jess gets her the most and like knows her heart the best, especially after watching like the movies. Um, and Logan kind of like her. Christopher so and like he can he can provide, But will he be able to raise the baby a little bit? How I feel about Carrie Big and Aiden? M I see that's so torn. I'm very torn. I'm always torn between Big and Aiden, and I'm always torn between Jess and Logan. But I just gravitate toward Logan. But I wonder if it's the same reason I gravitated toward Big, and now I'm I'm just ready for Aiden, right, all right, Well there you go. Um, this is giving me a lot. Shure he's held on the old headphones. You can join us. Yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you. Thank you for your questions, like straight faced the whole time, and I was like, I just look at my email. I sent you on your headphon. Hi, Jenna, thank you so much for calling in appreciate it, thank you and pleasure, Thanks so much, and thanks for helping out small businesses, especially after the last couple of years. They really need it and you're doing you're doing good things. So thank you for that. Thanks so much, and shout out to Saint Louis, great town. I love the Arch. Yes, love love Saint Louis Cardinals. Sean Sean Gunn is from Saint Louis. Yes he is. He's a Saint Louis boy. Yeah, yes he is. Um, so we know what good things come from Saint Louis. True. Thank you so much, Jenna, much appreciated. Thank you all right, have a good one you too, alrighty, So isn't this fun? I like talking to people. You're very good at this me. Should you just say hello? We should do this like every few weeks. Yeah, once every couple of months. I liked the idea, Yeah, every couple of months. You're really good at it. We knew it because you were kissing babies and hugging grandmas. I mean, these are the people that make your career and it's a little harder for them to be mean to us when they're talking. There are no buddy's gonna They're not people aren't being mean to us a little bit. It's just three years of being isolated in their houses. And you know, the amount of comments this week were insane. It was I know it was. I think I think it was like four hundred comments on one post. It's like one of our most ever. And what was the main sticking points? Some people were with you and some people weren't. It was a lot about what about the college education thing? No, about Dean? Oh about Dean? The Dean thing? Right, sure, it's so funny. The one comment that I thought was funny is so I's like, you guys know, it's just a show, right. I was like, yeah, it's a religion. It's a religion, and these are deities. Man, it's not just a show. Jessica, are you there? I'm here somewhere. Hi, Jessica, you're you're here because we can hear you. How are you doing? Good? Good? Where you calling in from Connecticut? Connecticut? What part o the great state of Are you calling the middle? And it's about sixty five degrees today? Oh? Man? What a beautiful state the middle right in the middle, in the middle. Yeah, yeah, boy, what a beautiful state. What a beautiful state? Do you do you ever get down to Westport and go sailing? No, I'm afraid of boats, so you wouldn't be doing right. Okay, we coming from a person who's afraid of everything. Me. Why boats? It's like the what is it about boats? Think? I don't like not being on solid ground? I'm with you. Why will you go on plant? Yes? But it's not the same feeling. It's like that I get that like zero G feeling when I'm on a boat and on a plane. I don't really get that interesting. So what do you do? What do you do in the middle of Connecticut? Um? I do a lot of outdoors, like hiking, snowboarding, mountain biking. Nice. So nice, man, I tell you, I'm getting jealous. I'm getting jealous. Man. You mentioned snowboarding. Yea, So what is your question? Okay, so I was wondering this is for you, Scott Ann Daniel. Um. Do you think your original assessment feelings of the characters, specifically Emily, were made too quickly early on or do you think the show was written specifically that way, so, for example, that you would be on Emily's side in the beginning before you realize what kind of parents she was. Well, okay, so I can't, but I'm experiencing the show the way the fans experienced a show back in two thousand and two thousand and one, two thousand and two, because they didn't know either, so they all everybody drew their own conclusions. I don't have, right, right. So so that's the experience that I'm having in real time to all the fans who've already seen it five thousand times and have figured out all the match nations uh and interconnected uh family stuff. So I'm they're they're they're coming at me with a with a with a an experience and a knowledge base that I can't match. I'm just giving these are my first impressions. So yeah, I guess to answer your question, that's probably what we were all supposed to be feeling, given the level of talent of these writers, right um uh. And I say this in the best possible sense, how highly manipul what if they are, and how good they are to lead you down a certain track and then surprise you. So yeah, or do do the do the opposite of what you think they're going to do? Or they make the big small and the small big and you just don't expect a lot of these things. So I think for most of the fans. It's a lot of fun to take that ride with me and and the team here, um because for me it's the first time and maybe they can recall, you know, their their memories of watching it for the first time now that they have it all figured out. Anyway, Danielle, what do you think? I completely agree with you on the whole writer thing, Like I definitely think that it was made like it was made to be that way, like a switch of heart, you know, halfway through or whatever. But with Emily specifically, I have the exact opposite feeling like I've always really loved her, Like I've always loved her, but it was never on her quote unquote team until season four. Like this season I'm like, I'm so team Emily. I think everything she's doing is like I just love her so much and I support everything she's doing. So yeah, I mean my original like assessment of her, I thought she was this tough cookie that nothing can break her, and that she is, you know, the will never show her emotions. And now in season four we're just seeing all her cards. So so yeah, she's definitely changed for me. Cool, good question. I've seen it so many times I don't remember what I thought about her back in two thousand and one, so I was just curious if it was if the writers really are that awesome that they design it so that you perceive at certain ways. Ye right, yes, yes, um, I mean yeah, I mean just just just think about, you know, how interwoven and complex these characters are, and how difficult it would be to write something like that Weekend week out unless you had a real storyboard up there beforehand and maybe changed around a little bit. But you know, you're looking at a wall of post it notes and different colors representing different characters, and their paths are somewhat plotted out beforehand. Yeah. I read something interesting. I can't remember I read something interesting. I'll have to find it. It was in a Gilmore book and Amy had been interviewed about Digger and the breakup. How interesting, And I think there might have been something. Scott, this is a weird question. Do you think there were ever things that changed because something, maybe that the writer's thought was really going to resonate with the audience, changed when it didn't happen. Oh sure, yeah, oh sure, yeah, yeah, I see, I see. That's the thing. I think they're flexible. I think it's like water. It's like you hope for the best and if something does happen. But yeah, I think I think they're very um um god, what's the word I'm looking for? Um, flexible and how they in their approach and you can kind of tell, right um. So yeah, I mean it's a huge, huge undertaking to bring on a writing staff and to get them in a room and keep them in a room. And I mean the writing staff on this show is just top notch and they just I mean not to talk about it now, but season seven has a lot of controversy, right right that it's a different animal. Sure, yeah, but anyway, there you go. So thank you, Jessica. Have fun, stay safe snowboarding, and you're so lucky to live out there in a beautiful place. Um. Enjoy and enjoy and thanks for calling in. Yeah, thanks for having me by guys. You got it. Courtney, how are you? Hello? Courtney? How are you? It's very nice to meet you. Nice to meet you as well. Where are you calling in from? I'm from Well, I'm in Illinois, but I'm from the suburbs. I never lie in pretend like I'm from Chicago. Okay, the suburbs is good. Right, there's more space, lower prices, and absolutely clean air. So what do you what do you do out there? I'm actually a mental health therapist. Oh nice, So you went to school got a degree. Nice, Good for you. Yeah, I work with children and adolescents and then I do a lot of like young adult work. Oh. You must be very busy with this coming out of pandemic, all these poor kids, right wow. Oh yeah, it's been very, very busy. And actually it was kind of interesting that, like it was very busy, and then it was the moment the world opened back up again. People kind of took advantage of that, and now I've had a lot more people come in more recently. So this was awesome because you guys are my one gap in between my sessions today. This is the best break ever. Well, good on you for helping out all those people and all those kids. They sure need it. And thanks for thanks for being a fan. What's your question? So my question was I wanted to know what you guys thought was the biggest lesson that you guys have each learned from the relationships that we've seen so far. So, like, what do you think Luke learned from each of his relationships, and then like Laurel and Rory, because we've kind of seen a good couple rounds here of relationships. So I was just interested to see. I think what Luke learned from all of these relationships, whether it's Laurel or jess Or is that he's not his heart's in the right place, his intentions are good, but the road to hell is paved with So I think he's finding out that he's not particularly good at them, um, because I think he's a little bit of an isolated guy and he's got his own little set of phobias that you know, come to the surface when he's put into these situations that he's that he's not capable of dealing with. So he either just shuts down or overreacts and he runs. It's like the fight or flight response. He he likes. He likes to run a lot. Yes, So That's what I've learned about Luke. Yeah, very cool, And I was just curious, like now that especially Laureli, like because she's gone through Christopher and Max and Digger at this point, Um and them that briefing with Alex, do you like, what would you say was kind of the overall lesson she's learned, whether based on each relationship or like as a grand whole. So far, what do you think she's kind of taken away? Um? Amy, you want to try that one? Yeah, because well, okay, so I come to this with the knowing what's coming, and so please don't hate me nothing yet. Okay, I don't think she's learned anything yet. Yeah, That's what I was very curious about, because knowing where things continue to go and evolve and change too, It's like, what what really is she carrying with her as she engages in the future, but also where where she fully learns until a year in the life. If I'm going to be a really honest Yeah, she's so reactionary and so all over the map emotionally, and yeah, I don't think she has a handle on I mean, I mean, she's got this sort of survivors emotional life where she's good at that and she knows from that, But as far as healing old wounds and really understanding why she is the way she is, I don't think there's a lot of self awareness there. Yeah. Yeah, I think because she's just so she's just in such defensive mode all of the time, all of the cracks and all the jokes and all of the putdowns, I mean right in front of her parents. And I know that's you know, it's a TV show, so this is serving us as an audience and the whole time. But I mean, if we're to be you know, completely clinical about it, um, yeah, I don't. Yeah, there's not a there's either a tremendous amount of self awareness where she's just moved on and accepted the fact, or the opposite where there's none. And it's just like it's just all fear based covering. And that's why people want a year in the life too, so bad, because there's so much more we want to see this evolved. Fine, I think at the end of the year in the Life, she's she's evolving, right, Yeah, I don't know, that's just mine. And she discovers all of this at the big wedding, big huge wedding. Yeah, it's kind of like my thought is kind of like she goes into each relationship the same as though the last one didn't just happen, and then, like you're saying, she becomes very reactive when all of a sudden something similar comes up, But there's no difference in her response or how it's handled, and then she just runs away or tries to deflect it off. But I think that Jason styles relationship. I think she did learn something from that, and I think she did evolve and grow a little bit from that because of the way she handled breaking up with him was like, you, I can't be with somebody that's going to assume my family. And so she chose a side that was that was that was significant. It was deep, It was really deep, and I think it was the beginning of some kind of a the on of awakening on who she really is and where she comes from and maybe maybe accepting it a little bit instead of trying to keep them so, you know, it's such a distance, it's like I am who I am, and maybe that's the first time she may realize it. I don't know. That's so accurate, Scott. She's the Gilmore and she's picking the Gilmore. Yes, and we never get to see her do that. Right, That's why I really do fit here. These are my people, as much as I don't feel like I relate to them, like they still are me, Like this is my family, this is my blood is thicker than water. Right, Because she got to experience a little bit of death right with her. Her. The precursor for act the actual dying was in that scene where her parents were acting so off the wall and so bizarre and so disconnected and she didn't know why. And that's the same thing as experiencing a parent that you know, perhaps you haven't seen them in a while, and then they have Alzheimer's and they don't remember who you are or they're they're just not and it's like, that is shocking, and that'll shake somebody to their core and bring them back into the fold as a caregiver or as somebody who wants to really reconnect or or get to the bottom of why and just leave all that other garbage behind because it doesn't matter. Right, All of a sudden, real life presents itself and we see that we're like, you know, finite beings, and then we're not going to be around forever, and we better embrace our our parents and who we are and and just you know, that's why I thought that scene it was such a big moment. It was her, It was her being calm and accepting who she was, even if it wasn't one hundred percent conscious, it was there was still there was a recognition of who she was. It was the beginnings of a recognition. So it was profound for me. It was just profound scene my favorite scene. Yeah, absolutely, yeah, yeah, So what else she got? What else she got? What else you got? Well? And then so my last one was about Rory. So we've had Dean, we've had Jess, and now she hasn't had anybody in college yet. But she's also interacted with people. She's watched her mom go through these different relationships. She's seen the evolution of more relationships I think than she's actually experienced. So as far as the lesson maybe that she's learned, I don't know if you feel like it's a lesson she's learning. He is coming based on her own experience or based on an observation of those around her. So I'm curious. I mean, just that's a combination of both, isn't it. Because she doesn't have enough life, she doesn't have enough miles on the road of life to really know exactly who she is. But I think for somebody for that age who grew up in those circumstances where she pretty much had to be the mother half the time she grew up a lot faster, and I think she's working from a more versatile and more more evolved tool set um coping mechanisms and um, you know what, I think she's really good at. I think she's really good at at letting water run right off her back and just keep moving forward because she's had to do it since she was a kid. I was going to say, though, still she's still her mother's daughter. Yeah, oh yeah, but when do we see But if you see this dysfunction, when when is it displayed? Right? When things are true, I think what you're saying, Scott is true, and she's her mother's daughter, so she's just those two opposing forces can also be true. Yeah, And I do think what you're saying is right. She is more level headed and she is different, but then she's so the same, right, Yeah, And I think she tries to take that one like step up from what Laurel I may have done, but it still might look different or not even play out the same because she's not the age of her mom. She's not in those types of relationships. She's in the this is my first love, and then this is my first whoa after that, and it's messy. We haven't gotten to it yet, but I think it's next week. Two weeks, two weeks, yeah, you know, last night and I was like, is this Yeah, it's going it's and and and I won't even say it, but there's so many parallels, like we'll talk about it then, like loyalized disappointment, but it's like, wait a minute, are you talking about? Are you talking about right now? Sorry, we can't, we can't. Just need to shut that down right now. I will say one thing I like about Rory in her relationships that she never changes, Like she's really true to who she is. Like right, she's always wanted to be a journalist, She's always wants to do this, and she's never like changed for a guy in that sense, Like you know, she Dean embraced that she loved to read books, and he started reading books for her, and like you wanted to go to college. And then with Jess, that was their whole relationship that you know, he did read all these books that Dean never did or didn't know and with and with jumping ahead a little bit with Logan, like he just kind of understands that she wants to be successful. So like I think with all of that like she's staying true to who she is. I think she's a lot to learn, um. But I think that just she didn't change for any guys, which I respect. If I look at the generations of Emily, Laurela, Rory, we are getting the same behavior, but with different ethical and moral compasses assigned to each. And I thought what was interesting about Rory confronting Asher at the end of this episode. I thought that was an extension of the family DNA. Right, that a spine of iron, Yet it goes into the uh. I thought that scene went into the area of a little bit of self sabotage, which makes sense because she's seen her mother do it. Yeah right, wow, And I don't know if Emily's ever done that, but a rebellious daughter with a spine of of iron would do that, and a and a daughter watching her mother do that being loyal to her mother can't help but repeat. But it wasn't as deep as she didn't dig as deep a hole as Laurel like sometimes digs for herself, as we've seen time and time again. But there's a little inkling that Rory is her mother's daughter. And I was imment right, right, And no, actually a big improvement. But but I was like, I was, you know, it's like going, oh no, oh, she's gonna blow it at Yale. Oh no, this is just don't do this, don't say don't. Then the comment came about the redhead, and I was like, oh god, no, that's like that's going to leave a mark and there's gonna be repercussions. Right, but she you know, you're you're right about that. Amy the mother's daughter. She is her mother's daughter for sure. Anyway, Oh good stuff is makes me think, so, yeah, yeah, you must be one heck of a therapist. Could we come to Illinois and get therapized to please autely? When are you guys have one therapist on? Like early on in the show, I was living for that episode. I know, I was thinking, we need to do that again. I would need to bring that back to Courtney. We've got to make sure to keep your number because I would like to do that again. That was really good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah maybe actually after the thing that's coming, do I have to take my headphones off again? No? No, no, she has to back it up, She's got to back it up. I always have so many thoughts and like there's a part of me that has my fan brain on. That's just like I'm just enjoying this and I'm going through it and then my therapist brain starts. But I really appreciate though, that you guys put this podcast together, because you guys talk about the show in such a different way than I think I've experienced other rewatch podcasts as well. So I feel like the how in depth you guys go in analyzing it, it's something again as a therapist, I very much appreciate. But it's but that's where But that's what's so fascinating about the show, Yeah, is that it lends itself to that. You know, it's begging for that type of analysis. You know, I don't know, it's just for me, it's obvious, it's just there. It's like has to be talked about. I agree with you, Scott. Yeah, you know it's so rewatchable, right, I think so, I think I think that's another reason. Yes, it's not just the pop culture references in the Yeah, it's not just oh this is the show happy everybody vomiting sunshine all the time, you know. And I love the way people have changed from the first time they watched it twenty years ago to the way they see it now, and that's happened for me where I'm like, wait, why do I like that person more or less now? Yeah? Just even watching it, like I think six years ago to now, I'm like, I feel very differently about people and things for sure, but I love it no matter what. All right, So Corny, we're gonna have to have you back on it looks like maybe probably in two weeks. Maybe please make my day. It's all the best, Teria. Thanks for calling in. Lovely meeting you, nice chat. We'll do it again. Okay, all right, thank you guys so much. All right, take care. People are so nice. Wasn't she great? They're so smart, They're all great. Right, get my god? Hello Ashley, there's Ashley. Hello. Hello, connected to audio Ashley. How are you doing? I'm good? How are you? Can you guys see me? Yes, we can see it and all of your glory? And and where where are you calling in? From? Um? New Jersey? Where I'm from Jersey? You're from Jersey. I'm from Jersey. Where? Um, Well, I'm originally from northern Jersey totala um near like Wayne Patterson area, but now I'm Northwestern. I'm about a half hour from the Poconos, so I'm like right on the boarder. Oh wow, you're way out there. Yeah, okay, cool cool. I'm also I'm also a Rutgers al. I'm not like yourself, no way, Scarlett Knights. Um so, how are you doing? What are you? What do you do for a living? Um? I am an accountant? Oh my goodness, there you go, but I am currently on maternity leave. I just had my son two months ago. Oh lovely, And if you don't mind, he would like to show you. Let's let's see the little fellow. Let's see this little guy. Oh stop, stop, buddy, what's it's his name? Jamison? Hey, buddy, first, yes, it's our first baby. Luke's sure. Look at this guy. Oh what a dream? What a dream? That was so good? And say no, glady, titties welcome anytime. Look at this guy? Is Jamieson. Have a nice life, buddy. So Ashley, what is your question? Um so, I guess just I guess it's more first you, Scott and Udan Yelle, since you guys have never seen it, because I know Tara and Amy know what's coming. But I'm just curious what do you guys think is going to happen based on these last few um episodes where things kind of blew up? Because this is in my opinion, and I'm not exaggerating, I've watched this show straight through at least one hundred times. Oh my god, it's my comfort show. It's on in the background on every day in my house. It's my son, who's, like I said, only two months, has probably seen it twice straight. Do you love these episodes? Like everybody? A lot of people are writing us that this four are their favorites of the serials. Oh yeah, there there's some of the best. I'm team Logan all the way, So I like the Logan episodes the same I do. Two. Do you think it's because we love Matt Zukery. I just that's my thing that I haven't been able to figure out. Do I love Logan or do I love Matt Like I don't know. I don't know. There's just something about Logan and I think when I was younger and I first watched these, it was the blonde hair that got me. Like I was always a big Nick Carter fan with a Backstreet boylan blue eye look. I don't know what it was. But yeah, so I love the Logan episodes, but this season four is I think the best season just because of the storylines in the pod yt. These episodes are just insane. So I'm just curious. I'm kind of jealous. You've never seen it before, and I'm just curious that you guys think it's going to having coming up. Well, I know what's going to happen between Luke and Laurel. I in terms, I know the kiss is coming because of course I remember that. Um, although I can't be sure it's going to happen in season four. I think it does happen in season four. It might be the finale. I'm not sure. Oh God, Oh, for God's say, it's fine, You're fine, You're fine. See you give me a hard time, Scott when I mess it up. Well, you know, I'll keep them on because the questions for you. But you're the one that's supposed to be telling people to take the headphones. That's not in my resume. I don't I don't know how to do that. You're good at that. It's okay. I would have predicted that was going to happen anyways. Yeah, well, do you know about the kiss right, she does you because I remember, I think we spoiled something. It's in the lore of the universe. Now it's hard to talk about it the show as a whole, Do you know what I mean? Because there's so many things that I can't decide. Do I think that? Because I know? Right? But anyway, I have no idea when I when I listen to you guys, and you say things, and I'm like, no, that did. But so I don't know how you do it, because I would be given the whole plot away. No, I have no idea what's going to happen. I don't know what's going to happen between Emily and Richard. I assume they're going to work it out somehow and get back together. Um. I don't know what's going to happen with anything going on at Yale. I can't even predict it. Um. I guess just more high jinks from Paris and and you know, the roommate situation and uh, you know, I'm assuming she'll meet a guy another guy, uh, Royal meet a guy up there. Um, and I guess the dragonfly gets off the ground. But as as far as providing any real predictive detail, I have no idea. I just have no idea. Yeah, I I do think Richard and Emily will be fine, Like they'll figure it out. Um. I'm still really stuck on the Dean Brewery storyline because I'm just like, there's obviously it's gonna something's going to happen there. So I don't know what what's going to happen. Obviously, I know she doesn't end up with him because this logan guy comes in at some point, but you know, outside of that, I don't know there's something happening with Dean. That's all I know. Yeah, I feel like it's it's kind of I guess it's a hard question to answer, so I'm sorry because there's so many ways that can go. But just as a first time viewer, I always wonder what people you know think. Yeah, wait, Ashley, if I can ask you one question before you go, what is like one word that Gilmore Girls brings you? Like you've seen it a hundred times? Like, what is it about it? Like maybe a couple of words just to describe, like the it makes you feel, which is why you like love it so much? It honestly it just makes me happy, Like I just, um, I it ended when I was in high school. Um, I think the year it ended, I was graduating high school and I didn't really watch it. I started watching it in college on DVDs when all the series yeah yeah ds. We were just saying that they were expensive too. They weren't. It was expensive, like you had to pay like eighty bucks for the season or something crazy. They would be like on my Christmas list each year because I'm like, on in college, I can't afford this, like somebody else care. My favorite episodes at the time where when Morey was in Yale, because she just looked so cool, like walking to campus with coffee. So I'm like, I'm gonna do that, like I'm gonna go get my latte and um. And now when I watch it, it it just makes me think back on all that and so I love that. Yeah, that's it. There's something about Logan that also ages her up. Yeah, the relationship is yeah adult, she grows up. I feel like with Logan, and I mean, without kind of giving anything away, I feel like this season she kind of acting a little childish in some ways, and I think she kind of grows up a little bit more once Logan comes until the thing, which we want to talk about the thing. Yeah, the thing and Logan really, Logan really feels cology to me. Yeah, with all his antics and like being the popular guy and like, yeah, I don't know. I don't know what it is about him. I've had many many conversations or I guess I should say disagreements with friends, because I have a lot of friends that are team Jess all the way and I can't do it. If you met Matt Sucre, then you would understand, Yeah, he's a spectacular human being. I became team Logan over but so is my low so and so is Jared. It's like every time we say that, then I go, well wait because my low is like, yeah, well we're talking about Logan. So did you watch before you go? Did you watch The Good Wife? Or do you watch The Resident? I do not the Residence on my list though, because I hear great things about so both are ex silent, and I also think one of the reasons I love both of them it is because of Matt Zukri. So sometimes I go back to you do I just the show? Right? Like that's how I am about Milo shows though, Like this is like and then he's coming out with a new show. I'm like, I'm definitely watching that like one hunder because of him. But like if you clicked on a People magazine article and it's like Matt Zukri is dating so and so or Matt Zukri marries so and so, I will cry, But I think a little bit, I'll have a little tinge of you'll die die a little bit inside, just a little. Did you guys talk about this episode, this next episode yet? Did you like, Yeah, we just finished that. Okay, Yeah, that's that's the that's gonna be. Yeah, that's the that's the episode breakdown for the podcast. Yes, we just we just finished doing it. I just listened to Monday's episode that you released yesterday, Shop good. A lot of times am I to get home before it's finished. I just sit in the car and let him sleep, and I finished work anymore, so I have to go out and listen to them out in my travels. All right, Ashley, thank you for calling in. Good luck with everything, beautiful baby boy, stay in touch and all the best too in your family. Okay. Also, crazily, James Pettitt just texted Live that there's Luke Pillows back and stop. This is this is this is fantastic exactly all right, as, thank you so much, take care all right, nice talking to you. The nicest people ever, I think, great. Why do you think I want to go out and hug there? Fantastic? That was the best text ever. Daniel's like, Scott is thriving, Tony Hillo, how are you doing? Wait? Is that a real backdrop? Oh well, yes, it's actually the skyline. It looks kind of Oh my god, where are you were? I'm in Louisville, Kentucke. I'm coming. I'm gonna be Yeah, I'm popcorn June sixteenth through eighteen. I'm gonna be there. I hope to make it. It sounds awesome. You better be there. Looks really pretty from here. Yeah, so cold day. So I hear the best things about Louisville. I can't wait to go. That's so cool. I would not have guessed that in a million guess cool little spot. So what do you What do you do over there in Louisville? I am in marketing. I actually work at the corporate headquarters for a senior living company. Wow. A lot of responsive as it is a lot of responsibility. Yeah, absolutely, So what is your question, Tony, My question is, um, you know, I've I've obviously watched the series several times, and I see a great shocking. We are shocked. We never wait a minute? Does she win the prize? Uh, I'm sure you haven't heard it all day, but uh, there's a major evolution of a lot of the characters, right, And so as you guys are approaching the end of season four, I'm curious what you all think the main characters major flaws are. Oh, good question, good question. I'm not anybody, but it's great to hear Scott answer that. I want to know anything the major flaws of Okay, let's start with Laurela. Major flaws I think are just sort of, um, there's kind of a lack of uh uh self knowledge. Uh, there's I think she has several blind spots because of her very strong feelings about her upbringing and what happened and the choices that she made and having Rory and that whole experience with her her mother and father, going through that and being estranged for all those years and then coming back into the uh you know, the tornado that is uh that dynamic, right, So, uh so I think she's got to gain some insight, and she is gaining some insight into her own feelings, which I think is fascinating to watch. Uh. As far as Rory flaws, Umm, I don't really see any flaws in other than the one we just saw. There's a little bright right, maybe a little self sabotage there, a little self righteousness, but she I think she's she's very circumspect and she'll sort of she'll figure it. I feel like she does that a couple of times though. Yeah, like self sabotage herself through. Yeah, I think is you guys get deeper into it. Rory's the one to watch, and I just you see that. We see that on the Instagram comments a lot phones, headphones coming off headphones. But many people, not me, do not come at me because I do not think this, but a lot of people in the comments think Rory can be kind of toxic. Whoa yeah, whah, I ain't talking about my girl, careful. I think through the series you see that though you see it ever really every season? I mean yeah, as a season go on. Yeah, Wow, that's quite a word, do you. Yeah, Toxic is sort of a word like narcissist. It's like what does it even mean all it makes me think of it's like you're toxic. I immediately put you like in the toxic music video. I don't know. That's amazing. Have you guys been doing this a long time? You've seen like really two years? You mean like the show, the podcast? I mean like today the call o No No. We started drinking at about three hours three hours. Yeah, I have to go. I took I took a break. I took a break Scott. It was so funny. I don't want to oute you, but Scott's like, hey, guys, I'm gonna be back in one minute. Like Scott has to go. I want to, but I'm just holding it. Yeah. I had this little voice in the back of my head and said, now, I weirdly did change my clothes. Thought during Yeah, you came back as a leopard or something. Right, what's going on? A cat some kind of jungle cat and Tony Now you know why we get sidetracked? A she came back dressed for a music video? What the heck is going on? Anyway? Other major character flaws, m oh, give me a little bit grouchy and like, oh you think I feel um? He doesn't want to admit his feelings. I think he's just I think he's got a hard Uh he's got a new get center with a hard candy shell. Yeah. Yeah, alutely. I think he m he gets in his own way a lot. Yes, he's always Yes, he's always tripping out for himself. Yeah, for sure, Uh, Amy Daniel, I mean I think Emily and Richard are complicated. Oh absolutely, Like it's hard for me to kind of sort of pinpoint it. They're just complicated because they're selfless and selfish, they're you know, they're they're very opposing well, Richard Richard Chers are hard working mama's boy and yeah yeah yeah, and uh, you know Emily is a a status seeker and a climber. Yeah. But at the end of the day, I think they really love their families so much, and we see that with where we're at that Emily's biggest concern is that she's going to lose Laurlie and Rory, and Richard's biggest concern is I will sacrifice everything to make sure these people that I love are provided for and taking care of. So they're each doing the same thing, but they have their different ways of doing it. Yeah. Absolutely, I think Emily can be a little woman fulative, and they all a lot of all the Gilmore girls can be manipulative. There. There's something about these high i Q individuals that manipulate. I don't know what it is. Why do they why? Why do they guy do that? Why? They're all really stubborn. Stubborn. That's a word we don't use a lot. And you know what, I think they should be stubborn too. I think that. Yeah, that's a that's a really intuitive sort of words. Use it. We haven't used enough on the podcast. But they are. Yeah, they're tough. Yeah, and they're tough when they dig in. They're tough their heart because Emily stubborn. They're all stubborn. We see that more coming soon. It's like a Faberge egg with blood on it. These are tough people, classy tough, right. Um. Yeah, So that's that's basically anything. Thank you, yeah, thank you for calling in Tony from Lovely Louisville. We'll see you right around Saint Patrick. There you go. I think you're there right around Saint Patrick's Day, right March fifteenth and the seventh summer right, No, oh, you're right. It's June sixteenth, Y Father's Day. Yeah, if you're in Toronto. Yeah, I'm hoping there are going to be some other cast members there, so but either way, Scott, I'm there for you. Okay, cool, cool. I can't wait to meet you in person. Thank you all so much for taking the time. This is so much fun. Thank you Tony. Thanks for being a part of it. Appreciate you all. Right, take care.
