We're letting Riley take control! She's giving you all the "A Tisket A Tasket" pop culture in her own Minisode. (with help from Scott, of course)
The question is, will she be a one and done… or should she come back for more?
It's your decision.

I am all in more. I am all in with Scott Patterson and I heart radio podcast Light everybody. Uh. I just love the episode and I love our spirited discussion. I love my pajamas and I'm feeling better, and I love the comments coming in. I love reading the emails, even if they're like Scott, You're so insufferable and I wish shut up. You know, it's like, I'm not gonna happen. I'm gonna remain insufferable. Amy's gonna keep talking, Riley's a superstar. Danielle is the secret hand behind the throne, but keep sending the reviews and the emails and the Instagram comments because we read them all and we actually do. We do take them to heart, even though we cry first. They hurt in the heart. They hurt us sometimes, you know, we get ten episodes of joy and smiles, and then there comes the dagger as everyone could have heard us before we started rolling, because I was just like, they hate me. The amount of F bombs dropped or it was really great. It's not hate, it's jealous, but it's I am working on my interrupting. I acknowledge that I get so excited. I am working on that. But that's the stuff. That's the format of this show is that it's kind of freewheeling, man, and if somebody's got something to say, just say it. You know, we're not here to be polite, that's right. But I mean it's like, you know, it's the energy of the show. It's it's just it's because sometimes, like in our last episode, you made points honestly that at first I thought you were crazy, and now I'm like, oh my god, he's totally God that right. I thought you nailed the lane thing and I thought you I'm not a dent in on the Suki thing, but I do think you and Riley made enough sense and I'm coming to your side. Look, I don't listen, it's just my opinion. It's just, you know, I throw out these little observations. They if they're accurate, fine, If people don't. If they disagree with them, then let me know. You know, Engage will let us know. These are not shy fans. This is this is like I said, this Gilmore Girls is a religion, and we have entered the church. So it's like, you know what I mean, I'm so happy Jesse is here with us now. I'm so happy. All right, So I think, you know, we're gonna do a whole since since Riley has become you know, trending, and she's become very popular, and she succeeded all of us. I mean it's like, you know, her q Q score has gone through the roof. Yes, she rarely gets a negative review, the most beloved character on this show. Um that we're gonna do pop culture as a separate segment because she's just that good at it. And guess what's going to happen. I guess what's going to happen during her pop culture segment starring Riley pelusis, we are going to shut up. Nope, Riley, the floor is yours. I like the input. And also, this is a dark difference from reviews I got in high school. You know, it's wasn't really the popular and so it weren't. No, you were not popular. Were you like Paris? Were you like Rory like Paris? No? I hated school. Hated school, which may makes sense now it would come to my pronunciations. Hated school so much. Anyway, we're here for pop culture. It's now a thing. Yeah, it now has a star attached to it. We'll see how your reviews dot and then the little pilot fish over here. We're this little pilot fish. Bring on all reviews. I'm welcome to them. May I make one note maybe a little closer to the microphone, can you know I want to really hear it. I don't have my sexy voice anymore, so it's not like getting all of them here. The better, totally way better. All right, go girl, let's get rolling, and ladies here, I'm gonna I'm gonna bring an okay, bring okay, okay, ladies and gentlemen, I want to introduce to you a new segment called pop Culture, and it's starring and hosted by Riolet Pulses. Thank you so much for that wonderful introduction, Scott Patterson. I'm so happy to be here. Thank you for having me. Um. So let's get started. First. We have Laura Lie and Rory are picking out baskets at Docy's market, and Laura Lie says, so I've decided I'm saving myself for William Holden. William Holden as an American actor and one of the biggest box office draws of the nineteen fifties. Holden was the best man at the two wedding of Ronald Reagan and Nancy Reagan and a hygiene fanatic, he reportedly showered up to four times daily. What a lot of showering. He must have been, Harry, so he's sweating along. Um. Next we have Lauralyn continuing the search for baskets, and Laura la says, hey, I'm sorry, Sunset Boulevard was on last night. I don't know. I'm on it for years. Sabrina Staalic seventeen and yet last night something just snapped. So going through all these movies since at Boulevards fifties American comedy William Holden start and was nominated for his role in this film. Sabrina was a four American romantic comedy drama film and because of the costumes high price Paramount insisted that Aubrey hepburn Um she paid. Did you say, Audrey? Did I say, Aubrey? I feel like you said, Aubrey, and I look, I'm not here to criticize. I want to be supportive. But she's iconic and her name is Audrey Audrey. I'm sorry, Audrey, it's just about to say that. One more bad review for Avy Sugarman am I supposed to let her say Aubrey Hepburn the negative. No, no, yeah, you're perfectly within your right too, but you manage that. But Amy get excited. I get excited. I get so excited and rolled up that at some time as I miss placed letters. So you know we're working on it. Yeah, So when we tell you Audrey Hepburn is one of the most iconic, amazing actresses humans, so we should say her style icon doubled the amount of emails there because I'll try it again, because she does deserves justice. Because of the costumes, high price Paramount insisted that Audrey Hepburn paid for them herself as part of her personal wardrobe. It was remade with Julia Ormond, Harrison Ford and good god he tried to whisper it Cormond or moan, you got this right, We're going to change the culture. Let's butcher some names. If only people could see, like literally, there's phonetic spelling on here, and I still don't nail it. Moving on, So glad we made this its own episode. Riley, you know what I says for too young to know some of these names, thank you. We won't consider that rude for The Stalag seventeen American drama war film. Billy Wilder filmed the movie at a studio owned ranch in California. He wore his best shoes and made sure the cast saw that he would walk in the mud because he felt that he couldn't ask his coworker to do it if he didn't do it himself. And I want to be rude, but I don't remember what movie we're talking about they made. They made a comedy series out of it. Was starring was his name? The guy that got killed? They made a movie about the guy that got Who was the actor the lead actor? Is it the one that Riley's talking about? William Holden? No, no, no, William Holden was a movie star. Billy Wilder. Billy Wilder was a director. He directed the movie Stalis uh Stali seventeen. But they made uh it's called Hogan's Heroes. Oh, Hogan's Heroes, Yeah, Hogan's Heroes. Was who was the lead actor in Hogan's Heroes? What's his name? The guy with a dark hair? Remember he got killed by his friend. They made a movie out of it. No, you got nothing, you're looking it up. Anybody I'm looking now is The flaw in our system is that the person looks the crap up as Riley and Riley's talking. We have to work out the kings. Thank you, but a way, you know. Speaking of William Holden, Uh, he was in Um, he was in Network. Remember that movie Network, I do. I'm not going to take it anymore. Yeah, I do remember that film. That's Bill Holden he was He was Peter Finch's friend throughout that film. Peter anyway, anyway, sorry for anyone under a hundred. These are movies, continue, Riley. I kind of love this. It's off the rails. The reviews this maybe a one and done. All these reviews are like, oh style, keep going. Maybe we can get something that happened after Probably not this one, but we'll try. Just tells Rory it is now time to go of lunch, and Gina Dean of Jacks Dean says, you think this is funny, and Jess says, well, it's no Lenny Bruce routine, but it has its moments. Lenny Bruce was known professionally as Lenny Bruce I, was an American stand up comedian and social critic. Although Bruce had become one of the most famous comedians on the Planet. Club managers were reluctant to hire him due to his money arrests, and once again, Gilmore Girls pop culture is timeless because Lenny Bruce is also a character on the marvelous MS masl which is a Gilmore creator. Amy Sherman Pologina's current Shawn Amazon. Yeah, that's how I know Lenny Bruce, and that's why that one is landing better on the end. You didn't Bruce before. I knew a little bit, but I know way more after me. He worked Blue. He was a very controversial. He talked about everything. He talked about sex, he talked about gay sex, he talked about everything. Yeah, they talked about I mean he was. He was quite famous. He's kind of sexy on Mazel Tune. I think Mrs Mazel just made out with him. Who who plays him in Masiel? I'll look that up while Riley keeps going. Next, we have Just Tells, Just tells Rory it is no time to go have lunch and Dean of Jacks again, Jessie, excuse me, ed Bergen, I'd like Charlie McCarthy answer. Now. Edgar Bergen was an American actor like the impressions are wonderful. Thank you. Edgar Bacon paid a Chicago wood carver thirty six dollar scoped a rascally redheaded Irish newspaper boy he knew the head went on a dummy named Charlie McCarthy, which became Bergen's lifelong sidekick. And this is a reference to Dean speaking for Rory like a ventriloquist. Oh we have, we have, we have an update. We interer Jack Luke Kirby plays him on Mazel and he's a cutie. He's a total cutting Oh sure he is, Yes, he is. Look at him. That's why I said sexy, because I don't know if the real Lenny Bruce was sexy, but that dude is okay, Dean is upset. Dean says, I'm sorry I do the silly walk, but I'm not feeling very John Cleese right now, John Cleason, English actor, comedian, screenwriter and producer. The Ministry of Silly Walks is a sketch from the Monty Python Comedy Troops television show Monty Python's Flying Circus. John Cleese is six five, similar to Jean Dean and Jared's um six four, and the Silly Walk involves a very high, exaggerated steps, which you can imagine looks very silly with those long legs. Do you do it for us right Riley? I mean to do a silly walk? Yeah? Can you do it for us right now? And get up? I could do it? Yeah, everybody do it? Riley? You do it person? Then Scott, can you tell you let me rearrange? Oh? Here we go. They We're gonna both do it. I hope do in Scott's This is the best, the best moment of this podcast since and I can get up? Where's Riley's still silly walking? And you both nailed it? I think I think we're going to get a letter from John Clie's lawyer. We're gonna get sued for botching the silly walk. Now you guys nailed it again. We're gonna we're gonna royalty. We're gonna need to pay royalty or something. Head that I am all in Instagram? Which is what again, Daniel? Sorry? I forgot I am all in podcast? We just got that. We just hang Luise on this show. Matt having fun. Well, that's my workout for the day. I'm exhausted, me too, Loyal lies, begging Luke to buy her best get Laura license. Patty gave my picture out to all these guys because she thinks I need a man. Luke says, you do one with a couch and a deep knowledge of Freud. Sigmund Freud is an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a clinic method clinical method for treating patients through dialogue between a patient and a psycho analyst. Not interrupt debatable If he's pop culture are historical, but continue aged he was. He's a historical figure that was used in a pop culture way. Ah, that's why he's the boss. He was co opted nice continue Riley. He was also an advocate and a user of cocaine. He thought it was American drug, which might explain a few things. That's an unexpected term that did. Laura Lai tells the other basket bidders they skated by by not getting her basket Laura license. Yes, ha ha, Sorry, guys, don't feel bad. I'm totally in the Dungeons and Dragons duns into Dragons is fantasy tabletop role playing game D and D players are portrayed as epitome of geekdom, and they have the basis of geek and game or humor. There are actually a few celebrities that play d n DN, Vin Diesel, tom Morello, Joe mangan Llo, Mom and Patton Oswald lay minute. These are these are celebrities that that play and dragons, and there are sexy celebrities that love D n D. I'm just stuf got a pop culture reference after Okay, So if if you're not getting the pop culture references and amy, you're not getting the pop culture reference. How how is the seventeen year old kid, like, how do these things coming Out's a great question I get. I'd say I get sevent riley when you're watching how many do you actually, like know forty because like some of them work like the star drug wads, but it's you know, obviously like they definitely go old, old, old timey on some of us. But that's why we have this, that's where the good stuff we have this new show. There learning so many things. Yea. Laura Lee has a talk with Rory and Jazz. Laura Li says he seems cool because he's got this dangerous vibe and this problem with authority, and he's seen a lot of Sylvester stallone Movies Sylvester Staalone as American actor, screenwriter, director and producer. At age fifteen, his classmates voted him the most likely to end up in the electric chair jokes on them. A noted fan of cigar smoking, he could smoking cigarettes while filming Rocky nineteen six when he was thirty, after he found himself getting very out of breath in the ring doing the silly walk, just kidding, just doing boxing. Four years later, Milo does does up here in a movie with stallone Rocky Belbow two thousand six at his Yes, yes, that is a reference. We all got, Yes, Jess, interrupting and very inside Dosy's market. It just says, well, you're having your vertical from here to Eternity moment right now in front of the superglue from here to Attorneys three American drama romance film More Film based on n one novel by the same name by James Jones. Donna Read stars as Alma in this movie, and we do know about Donna Read from Season one, episode fourteen. The Damn Donna Read. The film helped popularize a Loha shirts, unfortunately, and the sensors demanded that Deborah Kerr's swimsuit should feature a skirt in its design so as not to be sexually provocative. And in the scene where Burt Lancaster and Montgomery Clift play drunk sitting on the street, Clift actually was drunk, but Lancaster was not. Actor out of the actor's studio, you get drunk. Jackson and Suki are talking in the kitchen and Laura explains Miss Patti is trying to set up on a date. Laura lies, is okay? One of them? Seeing Ghostbusters on twenty four times? Can you say score that? I was trying to remember that line Ghostbusters four American supernatural comedy film, The Tear Dogs That Come to Life were actual statue designs on an old church in Philadelphia. Can you say manifesting? Because Melissa McCarthy later starting Ghostbusters in two thousands sixteen, Ghostbusters was reimagined in one as Ghostbusters Afterlife, starring Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Finn Wolford and McKenna Grace and all the O g s. And I just watched it and it's good. I recommend it. Yeah. Rory gives Laura La a book when she comes home from lunch with Jess and Laura Lee asked why Roy says the other night when you were watching Julia and Jane Fonda was playing Lillian Hellman. Julia is seventy seven American period drama films starring Jane Fonda, Vanessa Redgrave and Jason Robards. As we practiced that everybody would practice that before the show. I've never seen Julia. Have you stop? Probably, but I don't remember it. I left the catst I love me some, Jane. And this is the first film that Meryl Streep has appeared in a film that's named Julia in the title. The second is Julian and Julia in two thousand nine. Neither Jane Fonda nor Vanessa Redgrave could sail, highly regarded. A local sailor was assigned help with the sailing sequence, and the shadowy person sitting up the fishing boat at the beginning and the end of the film was actually Lily home Lilian Hellman. Jane Fonda did the voice over. The interesting Meryl Streep fact. I just learned. I don't know if she watched Gilmore Girls, but she does enjoy The Real Housewives, right Daniel. Meryl Streep watches The Real Housewives Bravos. The Real Housewives, specifically Beverly Hills. I found my self in Beverly Hills one day, I don't know, ten years ago, and I was crossing the street and I was I was with my I was with my wife, and Jane Fonda was standing right next to us in a great and I tried to strike up a conversation. Did it not go well? I was unsuccessful. I love Jane. I love Grayson Frankie. M hmm, I love Grayson Frankie. Yeah. See, this is how we bring the old references into the current. My acting teacher, one of my main acting teachers in New York. Um, it was also her acting teacher. That's how I tried to conversation, and she ignored me. Maybe she was just focused on her shop, you know what. She was probably just focused. Yeah, she had to get some across the street. She's got place to go. She's Jane Fonda. She's changing the world and saving environment. So that what was she going to talk to a little dweep like me? Right right, We've got to give monster in law a little loved any brains, I would have kept my mouth shut and given her the respect, Like this woman is trying to save the world leave her alone. Yeah, she's getting like she goes to those things and is not afraid to get arrested to like save the environment. So it's like, go Jane. And also she's in the nine to five. How dare me? Yeah? Dare you? How dare me? To round it out? Laura laias Rory to be careful with Jessa, says Boy in the Plastic Bubble kind of careful. We have actually talked about this reference before in the podcast um in season one, episode sixteen Starcross Lovers and Other Strangers. But just a little fresher The Boy in the Plastic Bubbles American made for television drama film inspired by the lives of David Vetter and Ted DaVita. Yep, yep, we wrapt Effective Effective Immune System starring John Travolta. Do d Volta sure the right? So wow that do not write her of you please do actually please do, because we need to know if we're just getting squish this back into the regular episodes or keep it separate.
