I Am all In. I Am all In with Scott Patterson and I Heart Radio podcast Everybody's Scott Patterson, I Am all and podcast I Heart Radio one of lem productions. You were here with Tara s for our Mini Soaked for they shoot Gilmore's, don't they? Tara take it away? All right? So let's start with Luke saying, oh hey, look, there goes Tommy Tune. Tommy Tune is an American actor, dancer, singer, theater director, producer, and choreographer. Over the course of his career, he has won ten Tony Awards and the National Medal of Arts, and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Ironically, his height of six ft nine inches, which he thought might be a hindrance, helped him to gain his first part on Broadway as one of the three tall men in the chorus of the musical Baker Street And by the way, let me introduce Sammy Sugarman as well and Daniel Romo. I didn't know that you were going to stay on. I didn't mean to make you feel left out or trying to push you to sure. Everybody's got squirrel issues and you know, uh, sorry, guys, I usually don't click out or do you You are so famous now that they just know that's what it is. You need no introduction. You know who the other two are. Anyway, go ahead, alright, let's jump twin. Taylor says the Tennessee Williams look like contest last month put us right over the top. So. Tennessee Williams was an American playwright and screenwriter, and he's considered among the three foremost playwrights of the twentieth century American drama. Um. He's a fan of Meryl Streep, and he once said if Hollywood were to remake a street a named Desire, he would prefer Meryl Streep to play Blanche Dubos du Bois. Sorry, guys, Um, I don't know that's not good casting. I don't think. I mean Vivianly it was perfect because she was like that nervous kind of crazy bird, you know, very light, light, airy kind of a personality. I'm sure Maryle could do it. Ye can do anything. She's the queen. Vivian Lee was, you know, Laurence Olivier's wife. She was right up there. Um, I don't know. These are all very old timing references. Yeah, yeah, Also Tennessee Williams in a near death experience. Rita Ora would have been great. I think Rita Ora would have been great. Yeah, Rihanna that she should have been great. She would be great in that part you know slicker X you know see Charlie x SA. She'd be great. Yeah. Now we're up to day. What's its Charlie x X. Oh my gosh, I let's move to the next one. Taylor says, you would kick Tiny Tim's crutch out from under him, wouldn't you. Tiny Tim is a fictional character from the eight novella A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, who was a crippled boy. His quote at the end of A Christmas Carol saying God bless us everyone, is one of the most famous quotes of all time from a play. Um I AMDB list more than a hundred versions of A Christmas Carol, including a video game nine eight short starring um Tom Ricketts, and also a two thousand fifteen TV movie A Christmas Carol and Zombies. M hmm, just old timey, old timey, old time now that I'm reading through them like out loud, Christmas Carol, Merole really should have played a boy, Charlie X people oh Man. All right, so Maxille and Lorel, I says, with a little encouragement, I could have been the seor Winces of the vegetable set. Senor winzes Marino was a Spanish ventriloquist and comedian. His popularity grew with his frequent television appearances on CBS is At Sullivan Show during the nineteen fifties and sixties. Later, he became popular with another generation of fans on The Muppets Show. Can anyone talk without moving their their mouth? I don't know, can you? M hmmm good? Decided to have on il later on I a cloggety good? Why is it so hard to watch? He's just not moving. It's creepy, though, except trying to say bes his lips kind of did I get the job? Did I get the job? Did I get the job? You got the job? All right? So this is the next one where Laura anything from the current century. I'm just wondering, Yes, God to work, work work, work, work, ark work lark. I mean, you can say Rihanna is some kind of adventuloquist herself, right, because she's she's sort of she's just like a major super vessel for all the great old timey singers right coming through her. I mean, this is a sound she. I mean when she opens her mouth and the sound that comes out, it's like wow, right, that's why she's a superstar. Yeah, she's got this voice. It is like no one's ever heard before. It's like, geez, listen to this, right? Am I wrong? Cool? Rihanna is just so right. But I mean that comes out in her voice. It's like it's like whoa, yeah you and everything about her huh. So the next one is when Lorela realizes that she doesn't have a dance partner anymore, and she says, miss Patty showed his wife a picture of me, and she thinks I look like Elizabeth Taylor, which makes her Debbie Reynolds and him Eddie Fisher. He's no Eddie Fisher, trust me Fisher Stevens maybe Stevens. I like Fisher Stevens. I thought that was an uncalled for dig. She digs people. You know. Sure Stevens was married to Michelle Peiffer, so like, guess what whatever he's doing pretty well, yeah he's not married. To tell you my Michelle Fifer story, give it to us again, just for another time. That'll be a whole episode that's gonna be, that's gonna take time. Was it in the Greece to Michelle Phifer Era or the Fabulous Baker Boys? Michelle? This is this is this is post um dangerous liaisons. So we're talking like nine. Maybe it was called the Fabulous Baker Boys. Yeah, pardon me, I called him brothers, the Fabulous Baker Boys. Yeah, again not a current pop culture reference with Eddie Fisher Debbie Reynolds, but I love it. This was this was a juicy one back this one. The next one we actually referenced in our other episode. Lizabeth. Elizabeth Taylor used to get married like she was changing her shoes, you know what I mean, back in the day. And that was dramatic because she was married to She was married to Richard Burton. He was married to Eddie Fisher. And then there was it like got broken up by Elizabeth Taylor, right, do I have that right? Eddie Reynolds was married to Eddie Fisher, Carrie Fisher's dad, and Debbie Roynolds is the mom, and then the drama was with Elizabeth Taylor. Taylor was yeah, yeah, we have it right. Apparently she had very pretty eyes. They're amazing. You look at a photo. Look at the photo. Show your squirrel the photo. Maybe the squirrel like stop, like you can catch them, stun him with the eyes of Elizabeth Taylor. That's a good idea, Thank you. Who had? Oh god, there's a really funny Taylor's head shot for pest control. There you go. There's a really funny Emma Stone story where she thought she was talking to Elizabeth Taylor and it wasn't Elizabeth Taylor. I don't even think Elizabeth Taylor was alive at the time. Who guys have to watch anyway, go ahead. So the next one we referenced in our other episode where Paris says Madeleine or may I call you Spaccoli Speccoli is a fictional character played by Sean Penn and Fast Times at Ridgemont High Um. He's known as the Quin's attention Quincy Quintessential Quintessential You guys, I'm like tongue twisting day quint Quintessential High School. During shooting of the film, Sean Penn got so into character that he only answered as Speccoli. In fact, the door in his dressing room was labeled Speccoli instead. Of Sean Penn. Kind of like that. That explains a lot, all right. So the next one, Rory says, my mother, the Howard Rourke of Stars Hollow, These are really old, tiny reference. Howard Rourke is a fictional character from the Book of the fountain Head. His character is a brilliant young architect whose bold and innovative designs are rejected by large segments of society. Work was based on the legendary architect Frank Lloyd Right. Frank Lloyd Right loves loves cars. Um Right is said to have owned more than fifty cars in his adult life, staggering number considering he was born two decades before the invention of the automobile. His love for cars informed the ramp design of his final project, The Gun Googenheim A musing him in New York City. You guys like, I just can't with these salts references. But so that was that one. Let's move to the next one, where Andrew says you went out with Liam Neeson. Liam Neeson is the Oscar nominated actor known for his work in Schindler's List and the Taken franchise. I love taking taking such as wasn't that great? Under the bed, and he's like, keep the phone on as long as you can. And at about thirty seconds there, like the scariest thing ever is going to happen. You need to because you need to focus right the five ten seconds to determine the rest of your life. Now focus, these men are going him to take you described shout out to me anything tattoos, marking, hair color, shoes. Um William Neason expected the film to bomb, but he signed on in order to spend four months in Paris and learned karate right, like anything good possible, Believe me better. I just turned into and like not only ironically it was like the film was a massive hit but created a new on screen image for him as an action hero. Fun fact, did you know he's a fly fishing enthusiast? Yeah? Somebody else who Henry Winkler. Oh, very calming, very peaceful, nice al right. The next one, Rory says, yeah, he's a regular. Martha Graham Martha Graham was an American modern dancer and choreographer. Her style, the Graham technique, shaped American dance and is still taught worldwide. She was the first dancer to perform at the White House and she got a presidential Medal of Freedom and Dance and choreographed for more than seventy years. Then we moved to lane saying no one asked for a Tony Minnaro want to be to drop by? Was that what Tony Manaro? West Side stories? John Travalta's character, It works so hard on the hair. My hair don't touch the hair, but my in my hair, right, thank you. John Travalta ran two miles a day and dance for three hours daily to get in shape with a film. In the end, he dropped twenty pounds and the white polyester suit worn by Travolta, um auctioned off for a hundred and forty five thousand dollars, was purchased by movie critic Jeane Cisco, cid, how do you not know Ebert and Cisco? Yeah, how do you not know the order of their names? I correct a corrector? Correct correct? That needs to be our new catch for corrector and as we do it constantly. Suit was discovered in London after international search by Victoria and Albert Museum. It was confirmed and authenticated as the real suit. All right, the next one. We talked about this many times. Greece girl, myself, I am too. To be honest, Amy's favorite reference coming in hot Ready and Shane says, who are you? Bobby Brady? Get a life line of the episode. I've seen every episode of The Brady Bunch almost as many times as I've seen I think too, I probably seen them more because they were thirty thirty minutes, so they really Have you seen the movies like those Weirds? First of all, they're great. I can't look at Christine Taylor, you know, Ben still Stiller's wife without just thinking Marsha Marsham. When when I was doing Little Big League in Minneapolis and Chicago and Boston and all that, it was my first it was a big movie. Yeah, it was supposed to be some big movie, but it tanked because they released it in in between um, the Lion King and Forrest Gump. Who was in it? Was it kids, It's like Jason Robards, Timothy Bussfield, Yeah it was. It was like, it's supposed to be a PG rated, sweet little baseball movie, right, and they kind of made it a little too precious for its own good. Um, the original script was really kind of edgy and fun and funny and all that stuff, but they kind of was sit out the main character a little boy and hair teeth. But one one of the assistants for the director Andrew Scheinman, is Deborah Capham. Debreakh Kaplan wrote with her her writing partner, the first Brady Bunch film and went on to become a very successful screenwriter. Isn't it interesting? And she would talk about the writing of we're doing this thing spoofy s so this other thing. This was in the maybe nineties early aughts, as they say, uh, they did this stage play of The Brady Bunch, and I remember going in Westwood. They would read word for word the Brady Bunch script these actors, but the way they would act it, it was word for word, but it was so hilarious, like so it's just, you know, six eight actors recreating the exact word for word script of the Brady Bunch. And it was called like the real Brady Bunches, Like, oh my god. The scripts are actually kind of hilarious because they're sort of so unbelievable on a great show. What a great show, a great show, and movies are hysterical, they really are. He's my favorite Brady, though, Peter is my favorite Brady. Peter totally I don't get Greg makes, I don't know Peter. All right, let's move into the last one, where Jackson says that does anyone here understand that a man has a right to not have his personal life debated in a public forum? I'm not Winona writer ouch Burn, which was because of the shop lifting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And she's best known actress, best known for her roles in Beetlejuice, Scissor Hands and more. And she dated Johnny things. Hello, I know Johnny Depp probably didn't. He should have taken a lesson to that back then and said, well, don't put your whole life out there. Although the best show on television right now is the Johnny Depp Ammer. I mean it's back, no question, no question. I went to yogurt. I went to the yogurt plays in San Francisco and the tip jar there was two tip jars, and one said Amber heard, and one said Johnny depth. And Amber doesn't even have like a penny. Yeah, the Starbucks by me has that. That's great, brilliant funny. You shouldn't joke because it is serious. It is serious, but also you can't also like his reactions in court are just like you can't you just kind of it's like a very serious thing. So we understand that. But then also the TikTok's people are making giving me life. I mean when they recreate what she's saying, well, and then when he walks into the courtroom and then they play like the Sexies or Saturday Night Life spoofed it. I haven't watched yet. I need to watch that. Well, that's it for pop culture. I love the current ones. It's harder for old rough it was just very old time because I'm like, I don't know who these people are. That's that's why we're here. Now we have and I'm like forty eight, so it's like, think of these twenty year old they probably are like what, Actually, there is an Instagram message from someone saying people do know the older references. I need to find that Instagram message they do. There's look, there's people of all ages watch the show. They really do, and if they don't know somebody, they'll look them up. They're very stutid stute is also or they just listened to our pop culture. I know all they need to know. They just hit play. They don't need Yeah, we got your back. Everyone listening. We got you right man. That is it for this pop culture miniso. Thank you ladies. Always good to get together and chew the fat, chew the Gilmore fat a little bit with y'all.
