Nearly four months later, hundreds of miles away in rural Illinois, the discovery of an unidentified young woman opened another mystery. For nearly 48 years, no one realized the two stories were connected. A breakthrough in 2024 finally revealed the connection, but it solved only half the mystery. The months after JoAnn left home remain unexplained, and no arrest has been announced in her case.

The following day, the body of a young woman was found in the lobby of a South Bronx apartment building. For days, her identity remained unknown. Statements from several witnesses later pointed police toward an unnamed person of interest. More than 28 years later, no one has been publicly charged, and investigators have never publicly established why Shonna was found at that address.

At around 4 p.m., they were seen together. Soon after, both children were missing. Search dogs reportedly tracked Kreneice’s scent to the road, but no farther. More than 34 years later, neither child has been found, and investigators have never publicly established what happened to them.

They also said he had shot their aunt and caregiver, 56-year-old Pamela Jean Myles-Johnson. Nearly seven years later, two arrests appeared to mark a break in the case, but no indictments followed. In 2025, additional arrests followed, and authorities publicly revealed who they believed wanted Pamela killed and why. As of this recording, the investigation remains active, and no trial or conviction has been publicly announced.
