CoLearn~Bridging Unconventional Education Approaches

In this podcast I want to share unique learning journeys. These learning journeys don't fit the mold of the classroom and challenge the idea of what is possible in life learning.

This is important because if we don't hear about these experiences, then how will we ever know that they are possible?

Not only that, we are in a new era of remote and hybrid work and learning. Our working life looks different, so why wouldn't our learning life?

In this episode, I speak with Michael Staton, founder of CoLearn. Michael is a former classroom educator turned EdTech Guru.

Michael understands from his experience in education that the ideals and big ideas that we often come to school with cannot match the reality of school.

Michael and I talked about the future of education, the impact of technology and the goals of CoLearn to support flexibility, accessibility, offer support and resources and connect families in the homeschooling community.

CoLearn~Let's Redesign Education With The Family At The Center

CoLearn is bridging conventional education approaches to create a new learning experience with FAMILY at the heart of it all.

This is how CoLearn plans to make an impact in the world of education and entrepreneurship.

Founder, Michael Staton heard this from homeschooling families when he was invited to attend a conference a few years back. Families spoke to the fact they are not "schooling" at home but living a learning life together. Parents are learning right alongside their children. In effect, it's not homeschooling, it's COLEARNING

Michael and I explored how CoLearn is committed to:

  • working with tech tools to help build active, flourishing learning communities (Many of the tech tools offered are FREE)
  • Building a community of fully engaged parents
  • Making resource discovery easier for homeschooling families
  • Offering the ability to re-mix your learning
  • Providing not only interaction and direct support but also jobs to home educating parents, no matter where they are in the world!

Help CoLearn Through Feedback, Help Yourself Through Work Opportunities With Them

CoLearn is continuing to build and as they do, they want to make sure they continue to offer the best support and connection to the homeschooling and self directed learning community. To do that, they are asking for feedback from you on what they offer. One of the free tools that they have designed and offer is their CoLearn Planner. They would love you to check it out and offer feedback on how it works for you, what can be improved and more. You can check it out HERE

CoLearn is also hiring! If you are looking to add to your income, support other homeschooling families and continue to homeschool, then this may be your place. Go to https://www.colearn.com/jobs
