After months of negotiations and strike action, firefighters have finally won their pay deal.
Almost 98 percent of professional firefighter union members have voted to accept settlement of a new collective employment agreement.
It includes pay rises of up to 24 percent, backdated to 2021 and blood screening for early detection of occupational cancer and illness.
Union national secretary Wattie Watson says Fire and Emergency still needs to regain the trust of members. She says what FENZ does in the next 18 months will be crucial as well.
