4pm November 4 1994 - Cairns landed it's first FM radio station. 103.5 Hot FM was launched with the only song being fit for the Hottest new radio station in the city "Some Like It Hot" by Powerstation.

Peter King was the first DJ on the air with Craig Weston being our very first Breakfast Announcer. Many names have passed through our city before moving to bigger markets and we tip our hat to all that have made our radio station what it is today.

in 2016 we changed our name from 103.5 Hot FM to Hit 103.5 - we also landed a new state of the art home on Mulgrave Road.

On November 4 we celebrate our 25th year and have created a mini history of the station, it's launch, the years gone by and rhe people who worked on it.
