Michael Sweet is the lead singer for Christian Heavy Metal band Stryper. Well known for their highpitched vocals, black & yellow spandex suits & throwing Bibles out from the stage, Stryper has the sound & look of bands like Van Halen & Bon Jovi but with a Christian message. The name "Stryper" derives from the Bible "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed in Isaiah 53:5. With songs like, "To Hell with the Devil," "In God we Trust," "No More Hell to Pay" & "God Damn Evil" they have received grammy nominations, Top 40 hits & Dove awards.
