A pivotal New Testament event (Matthew 17:1–13, Mark 9:2–13, Luke 9:28–36) is The Transfiguration, where Jesus reveals his divine glory to Peter, James, and John on a high mountain. His face and clothes shine with radiant light as he converses with Moses and Elijah, representing the Law and Prophets. A divine voice declares him the "Son" and instructs the disciples to listen to him. The main Feast of the Transfiguration is traditionally celebrated annually on August 6.
