Former NFL fullback Marc Edwards reflects on the Ohio Mr. Football Award

View descriptionShare

Former NFL fullback Marc Edwards is still the only area player to win the Ohio Mr. Football Award.

Although the area hasn’t seen another player win Ohio’s top individual football honor since 1992, this may the year our area starts a new trend. Winton Woods junior running back Miyan Williams and Colerain senior fullback/linebacker Ivan Pace Jr. are certainly worthy candidates.

Edwards, who starred at Norwood High School and later at Notre Dame, played in the NFL from 1997 to 2005. He won a Super Bowl ring with Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in 2002.

Edwards reflects on Mr. Football, his favorite memories of Norwood and what he's most proud of during his NFL career.

Also, WCPO’s Mike Dyer and TriStateFootball.com’s Greg Shoemaker discuss the regional final matchups with longtime area high school analyst Dave Berk.
