There's belief Gloriavale's trust has already faced consequences for serious conduct, including child labour, and deregistration is 'excessive'.

The Christian Church Community Trust is being de-registered tomorrow, after a Government investigation uncovered dangerous working conditions and children working.

Charity Law Association director Sue Barker says the decision is an unnecessarily harsh response.

"They've appointed independent trustees, they've got a new chief executive, they speak about the personal costs trustees have undergone, they're trying to turn things around. It just seems to me like the modern day equivalent of a medieval public flogging."
