Rachel Mackintosh: E tū national secretary on TVNZ journalists and other staff going on strike next week
TVNZ journalists will walk off the job next Thursday for the first time in two decades.
About 140 unionised newsroom staff will strike for an hour from 1pm, protesting the state broadcaster's 2.5 percent pay rise offer.
E tū national secretary Rachel Mackintosh says the broadcaster is in a better financial position than expected following the success of the World Cup.
"They are actually in a better financial position than they have been for ages."
