Over in Australia, a future Coalition Government could slash the tobacco excise by 80 percent, and legalise and tax vapes and nicotine pouches.

Opposition Leader Angus Taylor made this pledge, and explained the resulting price reduction would stop the black market from growing further.

Australian correspondent Oliver Peterson says less people are buying legal tobacco than ever in Australia, but advocates have raised concerns about the impact of this move.
