New data shows one in seven Kiwi men aren't wearing seatbelts - and a new campaign has been launched to bring down the risks of injury or death.
NZTA is partnering with four provincial rugby teams to encourage young men to buckle up and stay safe.
Northern Rescue COO Karl Taylor says too many younger men between 18-40 think they're 'bulletproof' and that's a factor behind these stats.
"We need to get the message out there, and we just need to keep sounding that message out there and keep beating the drum."
