A push to incentivise Queenstown property owners to offer properties as long term rentals- not Air BnBs.

The Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust's wait list has grown to a massive 820 households.

Chief executive Julie Scott says they'd like the Government to consider action on short-term accommodation platforms.

She says they could perhaps make it less attractive for people to put properties into short term accommodation - because it's having a major impact on rental supply.
