The Taxpayer's Union says it seems there are too many comms staff and not enough engineers at the agency.

Executive Director Jordan Williams says there are so many other problems worth fixing.

He says there is a bus driver shortage, closed rail lines and cost blowouts on the City Rail Link.

There's suggestions heads will roll over Chris Luxon's latest leadership challenge, but not straight away. 

The Prime Minister's survived a confidence vote of his caucus - the second in four months. 

Luxon called an urgent meeting to address recent reports of discontent among National MPs, and he confirmed today that he had full backing from the party.

US media is reporting Donald Trump secretly swapped planes as he left a NATO summit in Turkey last month, to evade a possible Iranian threat.

It's believed the US President boarded Air Force One in view of media, before being covertly moved to a military aircraft with the help of a catering truck.

The White House has not confirmed the secret switch, but reports claim it came after credible warnings.

US correspondent Dan Mitchinson says this move has prompted concerns after journalists and personnel were on board the original plane.
