The country's biggest banks are pushing back against measures to share their data and increase competition through open banking.
The Commerce Commission wants financial technology firms to link up with the banks- and have urged the Government to crack the whip.
NZ Herald Wellington business editor Jenee Tibshraeny says this issue has been going on in the background for several years.
