Shane Jones has been chewed out by the Road Carriers Association for suggesting four-lane highways are a thing of the past. 

The NZ First MP says he doesn't expect any more to be built in his lifetime, because they're too expensive to justify.

But Road Carriers Association Advocacy General Manger James Smith says this is one of the dumbest things he's ever heard from a politician. 

He told Heather du Plessis-Allan that four lane highways deliver safety and productivity.

Nicky Hager’s new book, Dirty Work, has officially been released and it's made some controversial allegations.

The book centres on the Taxpayers Union and founder Jordan Williams, and includes claims the lobby group has worked with the tobacco industry, and focuses on race-based campaigns. 

Jordan Williams has labelled this 'desperate'. 

"This is three different versions of an allegation that came from nowhere, that every former chair and current chair of the Taxpayers' Union is saying does not exist."

Labour's Chris Hipkins has taken aim at the National Party, by pointing out that it can't spend as much on advertising as they can.

Hipkins claimed the Labour doesn't have as much money as National does, which he claimed is fuelled by 'millionaires wanting to further their own interests'.

Donald Trump says oil prices will plummet below pre-conflict numbers, if other nations join his economic isolation of Iran.

Speaking to the UN General Assembly, the US President said he must choose between letting Iran rebuild a far greater country or annihilate them.

Trump says until it stops attacks on commercial shipping and relinquishes its nuclear ambitions  Iran must be economically isolated.
