Voters are headed to the polls for the US midterm elections, which will dictate which party controls Congress for the rest of President Trump's second term.

The tides look to be turning for Trump, with many US voters voicing concerns around the cost of living and fuel prices - which have surged amid the ongoing war in Iran.

US and Middle East correspondent Gordon Robison says we'll see the first set of results tomorrow, but he outlined the US states to keep an eye on.

Over in Australia, the Reserve Bank has moved to increase the OCR for the fifth time to 4.85 percent.

The central bank's board members voted six-to-three in favour of the increase amid growing concerns about inflation. 

HSBC chief economist Paul Bloxham says the RBA is 'concerned' about inflation becoming embedded and they're looking to tighten things up
