New Zealand's own 'queen of air guitar' is on a mission to revive the art.

Giesela Visser-Heydon - or Giz, Gizzy Guitar, Roxy Riffles, The Gender Stratocaster - is New Zealand's only female national air guitar champion, and she came second in the Air Guitar World Champs in Finland.

She says she's moved on to a judging role, and she's looking to mentor the nation's next wave of air guitar champions. 

"I'm really excited about bringing Air Guitar New Zealand back, we've got a great history... Aotearoa's like - come on, bring it back, let's get back on the stage, let's dominate."
