Cheers for a Government report on hospitality, according to some industry experts. 

A Ministry for Regulation review has found bureaucratic red tape and complexities could be scaled back.

It's found food safety checks were sometimes disproportionate to risk, and unnecessary costs from building requirements.

Brewers' Association Executive Director, Dylan Firth, says district licensing committees have caused inconsistencies.

"You've got some businesses waiting six months to get a licence, if not a year to get a renewal. And that's just really difficult for business - you know all these people want to be doing is providing food and beverages to their customers and their communities."
