David Seymour is playing down criticism after he drove a 77-year-old Land Rover up the front steps of Parliament. 

Parliamentary security stopped the ACT leader before he got further than a few stairs.

Seymour says it was just a bit of fun and he was doing it for charity - to raise money for children's heart disease.

"I think if the people from 1948 were around, they'd be astonished that I got to talk on the wireless for doing this rather mundane act."

Apple revealed its first foldable iPhone today, alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max and some other new products.

The new 'Duo' product will be available by the end of next month - but Kiwis will have to pay at least $4199 for one on the low end.

BusinessDesk tech columnist Peter Griffin says we're all holding onto our phones for longer, and there's no need for most people to rush into upgrades. 

"You're talking about the wealthiest consumer tech company in the world, it's taken years to develop this - so you'd expect that the product is excellent, and we'd sort of expect that it would be expensive."

The ACT Party is looking to scrap the Waitangi Tribunal if elected, and leader David Seymour has claimed its original purpose has gone.

The party intends to limit the Tribunal to claims lodged before September 2008, and then it would be dis-established for good once those are sorted.

Seymour explained that he's looking to remove the Tribunal's jurisdiction over 'contemporary claims', where activists critique the Government. 

"That ends straight away, and then we leave them on a sort of skeletal basis until they finish these remaining claims, bearing in mind there's no new claims, because they all had to be in by 2008."
