There's reports of cockroaches and fleas at Auckland Hospital - and one patient took a tumble. 

Patient Claudia Elliot says she hit her head, after seeing a cluster of cockroaches in her shower. 

"I managed to crush one of them and tried to get the other two, and that's when I slipped and fell."

The Heath New Zealand website says cockroaches thrive in unhealthy environments, and transmit disease.  

RNZ reports Health New Zealand's received about 140 complaints about fleas at Auckland sites in the past year.
